About the Role: We are looking for an experienced and proactive HR Manager to lead HR operations and strategic initiatives for our Bulgarian office. This role is a mix of operational HR (payroll, contracts, compliance) and strategic HR (culture development, performance management, management partnership). Initially, the focus will be on running our relocation project, with the long-term scope expanding to full country HR responsibilities.
This is a hands-on position for someone who can work independently, take ownership, and drive HR initiatives forward, while collaborating closely with our global team and HQ in the US.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all HR operations in Bulgaria, including payroll, contracts, HR administration, and compliance.
- Serve as the primary HR partner for management, supporting performance management, talent development, and employee relations.
- Drive HR strategy and initiatives, including culture-building activities and engagement programs.
- Manage relocation projects, ensuring smooth onboarding and integration of international hires.
- Collaborate with global HR teams and HQ in the US to ensure alignment with company policies and practices.
- Provide guidance on local labor laws and HR best practices.
- Analyze HR metrics and provide insights to support decision-making.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a HR Manager or senior HR generalist in a global or multi-national company.
- Experience handling employee populations of 200+.
- Strong understanding of Bulgarian labor laws and HR compliance.
- Hands-on experience with payroll, contracts, and HR administration.
- Track record of strategic HR initiatives, such as performance management, culture development, and management partnering.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership, and drive initiatives proactively.
- Excellent communication skills and experience collaborating with HQ in the US or other global offices.
