About Mantle
We offer TrueShape metal 3D printing technology to help manufacturers develop products faster and more affordably. Our technology reduces the time and cost of creating production-grade tools, molds, and dies.
TrueShape combines CNC machining with 3D printing, using industry-standard tool steels like H13 Tool Steel and 420 Stainless Steel. Our system produces precise tooling with a surface finish of 1-3µm Ra / Charmilles 26 and an accuracy of +/- 0.001” per inch. It also allows for fine features and flexible designs, such as conformal cooling. Our tools have already produced hundreds of thousands of parts for customers.
Stephen Connor and Ted Sorom co-founded Mantle, building on their research into printable electronics materials for metal parts. We are headquartered in San Francisco, California, and specialize in tooling and injection molding applications.
