Axiom

We were founded in 2022 to build infrastructure for zero-knowledge proofs (ZK). We do this using OpenVM and the Axiom Proving API.

OpenVM is a flexible zkVM framework. It allows programs to be written in Rust and verified with ZK. It also offers custom VM extensions for faster proving and supports efficient onchain proof verification.

The Axiom Proving API provides fast ZK proving infrastructure. It generates reliable proofs quickly, manages reproducible builds and artifacts for OpenVM programs, and scales ZK proof generation.

Our technology secures rollups and decentralized exchanges. This includes supporting rollups like Scroll, OP Stack, and custom app rollups, reducing withdrawal windows, and adding EVM support. We aim to reduce transaction proving costs to under $0.001 per transaction.

We also prove Ethereum mainnet blocks in real-time to scale Ethereum. Our work involves building an L1 zkEVM, replacing L1 consensus with ZK cryptography, and securing Ethereum with 100-bit security. We expect proving costs to be under $0.01 per block. We support common stacks and provide custom implementations.

For instance, we use OpenVM to power Lighter EVM, which expands its platform and enables native interoperability. We are also finalizing Scroll mainnet (since April 2025) to achieve Stage 1 rollup status and reduce transaction fees.

As of September 2025, OpenVM v1.4.0, featuring GPU support and distributed multi-GPU proving, is live on the Axiom Proving API. This update allows OpenVM to prove Ethereum mainnet blocks in 15 seconds, with costs as low as $0.0003 per transaction. The OpenVM GPU prover has an MIT / Apache 2.0 license.
