Position Overview:

The Associate Director, Field Medical Excellence & Training will lead the development and execution of standardized systems, processes, training materials, and capabilities to support PharmaEssentia field teams. This role ensures that team members are equipped with the necessary skill, capabilities, and knowledge to effectively engage with Health Care Providers (HCPs), Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), Policy Decision Makers (KDMs) and other health care decision makers.

Key Responsibilities:

These may include but are not limited to:

  • Strategic Planning and Execution:  Develop and implement a comprehensive vision, strategy, and tactical plan to enhance the scientific acumen and engagement capabilities of field teams.
  • Training:  Lead the creation and delivery of scientific training programs including self-paced modules, live sessions, and virtual workshops, knowledge retention tools, to ensure consistent and effective knowledge dissemination
  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with internal departments such as Medical, Analytics & Informatics, Managed Markets, and other stakeholders to develop resources and tools for all field teams, including sales, medical, and managed market field team members
  • Content Creation & Management: Oversee the development of training materials and tools that support field-based interactions, ensuring alignment with overall company strategies and in full compliance with regulatory and operational standards
  • Medical and Scientific learning content: Ensures timely and efficient development and delivery of medical and scientific learning content/training related to disease state, product (including pipeline and commercial assets), and treatment landscape
  • System and Process Optimization:  Advise on enhancements to digital tools and systems that support field efficiency and external engagement, aiming to streamline processes and reduce administrative burdens
  • Continuous Improvement: Monitor and assess the effectiveness of training programs and materials, validate and update as appropriate existing materials, generate routine reports implement improvements based on feedback and evolving team needs
  • Regulatory and Compliance:Working knowledge of relevant Medical Affairs regulations and quality standards, with experience in supporting quality, compliance, and legal/ethics training

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Education: Scientific / Clinical / Medical educational background required
  • Advanced Scientific Degree (e.g., PhD, PharmD, MD, or DNP) required
  • Professional experience: At least 7 years, including 4 years of prior MSL or related pharmaceutical industry experience (clinical experience working with benign Hematology is and/or previous experience working in similar role highly preferred)
  • Up to 30% travel to allow for field engagement, attendance at regional and national trainings, etc.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-evolving environment, as well as a proven track record of working effectively in diverse teams involving multi-functional disciplines

  • Disease State/Product training, presentation, and facilitation expertise
  • A track record of proven success in areas of high-risk, high reward scenarios would also be beneficial
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills to demonstrate leadership and initiative
  • Strong scientific background, with the ability to critically review and analyze scientific literature in an objective manner and concisely summarize and communicate key information
  • Experience creating interactive content of various media types with e-learning software experience
  • Strong individual project management skills and works collaboratively with vendors to meet project and event timelines to deliver high-quality materials
  • Creative and strategic thinker possessing excellent written, oral, and presentation skills
  • Goal-oriented with a strong sense of urgency and the ability to address complex problems across projects
