Job Description
At Conduit Tech, we’re on a mission to supercharge the home services industry. Our cutting-edge software harnesses the power of AI and LiDAR to give contractors lightning-fast, intuitive sales and load calculation tools—helping them win more deals, wow homeowners, and deliver unmatched comfort and savings. We’re quickly transforming how in-home sales happen and becoming the must-have tool in every HVAC contractor’s tech stack.
We are scaling fast and need ambitious, driven sales professionals to sell into the huge HVAC contractor market. If you’re a team player, want to win, and want to help shape the future of home services technology, your opportunity is here.
Role Description
As our Business Development Representative, you will play a pivotal role in a fast-paced software startup. You are obsessed with our customer—you want to engage contractors early, qualify their needs, and drive them toward a demo. You love to hit activity metrics and build pipeline from scratch. You work in a self-directed manner, crave a massive impact, and thrive on balancing inbound lead follow-up with outbound prospecting. This position is East-Coast time zone based and remote.
You will thrive if you are:
Customer-obsessed: You love talking to HVAC pros all day—fielding e-book, digital marketing and webinar leads, understanding their pain points, and guiding them toward a demo.
A great listener & communicator: You patiently listen to each contractor’s context, then respond with concise, persuasive written and verbal outreach.
Growth oriented: You are always looking to learn more—iterating on call scripts, refining personalization tactics, and embracing feedback to improve conversion rates.
Driven problem solver: In a startup environment, you learn quickly and put best practices into action—identifying bottlenecks in lead flow and proposing solutions on the fly.
Efficient & adaptable time manager: You balance competing priorities—half your day on outbound cold outreach via email, LinkedIn, or text personalization tools, and half your day on inbound qualification. You adjust tactics rapidly without sacrificing quality.
Scrappy, self-starter who moves quickly: You understand there isn’t always a playbook for everything. You thrive on ambiguity, helping to build our BDR processes from the ground up and embracing new outbound tools despite budget constraints.
What you’ll do
Lead Generation & Qualification:
Field inbound assets (e-book downloads, search marketing leads, webinar sign-ups, SEO leads) and conduct discovery calls to assess fit, then hand qualified opportunities off to AEs for demos.
Execute high‐volume outbound prospecting campaigns to completely cold leads—building your own lists, leveraging LinkedIn scraping, AI-driven personalization tools, and manual email sequences.
Manage a balanced pipeline including a mix of inbound follow-up and outbound outreach—ensuring consistent lead flow into our sales funnel.
- Maintain accurate activity logs and qualification notes in Hubspot, driving transparency and handoff efficiency for the AE team.
Collaboration & Support:
Partner with Marketing to provide feedback on lead quality and recommend improvements to ebook offers, landing pages, and nurture sequences.
Leverage data analytics to refine qualification criteria, track conversion rates from MQL to SQL, and continuously iterate on outreach cadences.
Work closely with the AE team to understand ideal customer profiles and tailor targeting accordingly.
Attend monthly trade shows and regional events (travel as much as once per month) to meet potential customers, practice elevator pitches, and collect new contact information for outreach.
Qualifications
1–2 years of experience in a BDR/SDR or similar high‐volume lead‐generation role, preferably in SaaS (bonus if you’ve sold to skilled trades or construction industries).
Demonstrated ability to build pipeline from scratch via outbound cold outreach—proficient with email personalization tools, LinkedIn prospecting and list building.
Comfortable fielding inbound qualified leads and quickly diagnosing customer fit to schedule demos (marketing automation experience a plus).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging for different contractor segments (distributors, manufacturers, local co-ops).
Results‐oriented mindset: you hit activity targets (emails sent, calls booked) and push qualified meetings to AEs.
Willingness to travel ~1×/month to industry events (trade shows, conferences) to network and source new leads.
East-Coast based (EST/EDT time zone) to cover early morning East-Coast outreach.
If you’re ready to roll up your sleeves, master both inbound and outbound motions, and accelerate Conduit’s pipeline as a hands-on BDR, apply now!
