CPI is seeking a Data Analyst to join our growing team! We are a full-service consultancy and professional services firm specializing in large capital projects (infrastructure, energy, etc). We are headquartered in San Diego, CA, but our team is fully remote.
Job Summary: The Data Analyst Level 2 plays a key role in delivering advanced analytics, cross-functional insights, and proactive process improvements. This role requires strong analytical thinking, proficiency with a range of data tools, and the ability to collaborate across departments to shape data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support day-to-day analytics operations, including data extraction, cleansing, and report generation
- Create dashboards with guidance from senior analysts
- Understand business needs to assist in decision-making
- Communicate results and insights clearly and concisely
- Ensure timely project completion
- Visualize data in an easily consumable way for business stakeholders, using advanced reporting tools and dashboards
- Execute ETL processes to assess datasets, identify nulls or errors, and load data to appropriate platforms
- Perform in-depth data analysis and compile clear technical reports and findings
- Collaborate effectively within and across teams, providing actionable insights to guide decisions
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to continuous enhancement of analytics practices
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelorβs degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Marketing, or related field, or equivalent experience; masterβs degree a plus
- 3+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a related field
- Ability to independently write and execute complex and efficient SQL queries
- Experience designing and completing Power BI reports or similar dashboard projects
- Demonstrated skillful data cleaning and validation
- Proficiency with Power BI, SQL, and Python
- Demonstrated focus on automation and version control
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present technical insights clearly to stakeholders
- Experience in cross-functional collaboration with the ability to build trust and credibility
- Strong planning, documentation, and process-tracking skills
- Energy utility domain knowledge preferredΒ but not required
- Microsoft Certified Data Analyst Associate Certificate or similar preferred
- Experience with AWS preferred

Salary: $80,000-$100,000+ depending upon qualifications and experience.
