Description

Sprout Social is looking to hire a Director, Learning Experience, & Culture to create the end-to-end employee journey that transforms how people learn, grow, and belong at work. As our Director, Learning, Experience & Culture, you’ll design experiences that span onboarding, learning, recognition, and belonging—ensuring every touchpoint feels intentional and inspiring. You’ll reimagine how people connect with our culture while translating our values into experiences that people genuinely love and that attract exceptional talent.

Why join Sprout’s People Strategy & Innovation team?

The People Strategy & Innovation team doesn’t just support our people—we accelerate their potential and drive business outcomes. We’re the team that builds a workplace where everyone can succeed. We create the programs, systems, and cultural cornerstones that define the Sprout experience, ensuring our team has the clarity and support to do their best work, together.

What you’ll do

As Director of Learning, Experience & Culture, you’ll lead the innovation and product strategy that creates the experiences people remember. You’ll own learning programs, cultural initiatives, and recognition systems as products— developing new ones and continuously improving them based on user feedback and data. Your work shapes not just what people learn, but how they actually belong, grow, and thrive at Sprout:

  • Lead end-to-end product strategy, design and execution for learning and experience products including onboarding, learning programs, recognition, and belonging initiatives that reinforce culture, advance fairness, and drive measurable engagement
  • Lead and develop your team by coaching and supporting team members while working closely with the Director, People Effectiveness and PS&I leadership to ensure seamless collaboration and unified team impact
  • Apply DEI and remote-first principles to ensure all learning programs create belonging and work effectively across diverse backgrounds and distributed teams
  • Drive product optimization through design thinking by ensuring solutions are insight-informed, user-tested, and measurably impact employee development and business outcomes
  • Build strategic partnerships with business leaders, HRBPs, and Internal Communications to strengthen cultural alignment and drive adoption of PS&I initiatives
  • Guide employee voice strategy and insights by overseeing how we listen to employees and translate their feedback into better learning and cultural experiences
  • Leverage AI to enhance learning innovation by identifying opportunities to apply AI tools in program design, content creation, and employee experience measurement

What you’ll bring

  • 10+ years of experience in learning and development, employee experience, or cultural initiatives with demonstrated success treating programs as products that require continuous iteration and improvement
  • Proven track record building and leading high-performing teams in fast-growth environments while developing individual capabilities and maintaining strategic alignment
  • Experience designing learning programs that drive measurable business impact with strong background in program optimization and user experience principles
  • Strategic partnership and influence skills with ability to work with senior leaders and navigate complex stakeholder environments while building consensus
  • Product management mindset with experience applying user research, iteration, and data-driven improvement to people programs and employee experience design
  • Experience working in distributed environments with proven ability to create connection, learning, and culture across remote teams and diverse geographic locations
  • Demonstrated expertise in diversity, equity, and inclusion with track record of designing and implementing programs that create belonging and advance equity through learning initiatives
  • AI literacy and innovation mindset with demonstrated interest in leveraging AI tools to enhance learning design, delivery, and measurement

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Experience in high-growth technology or SaaS companies where you’ve navigated rapid scaling while maintaining learning quality and cultural cohesion
  • Advanced expertise in learning design and adult learning principles with background in instructional design or learning science methodologies
  • Human-centered design or design thinking background with experience applying user research principles to employee experience challenges
  • Track record developing successful cultural initiatives including diversity, equity, and inclusion programs that drive meaningful organizational change
  • Experience with modern learning technologies and experience platforms that enable scalable, personalized learning

How you’ll grow

Within 1 month, you’ll plant your roots, including:

  • Developing comprehensive understanding of Sprout’s culture, values, and current employee experience landscape
  • Building relationships with your team, People Team leaders and cross-functional partners to understand strategic priorities and learning needs
  • Assessing current learning programs and cultural initiatives as products, identifying optimization opportunities
  • Partnering with your team to understand current initiatives and establish collaborative working approaches

Within 3 months, you’ll start hitting your stride by:

  • Developing strategic roadmap for learning and experience products that addresses critical employee development needs
  • Leading evolution of learning and cultural programs using product management principles and user feedback
  • Establishing trusted advisor relationships with key business leaders across functions
  • Designing employee experiences that reinforce culture and values while driving measurable business impact
  • Coaching team members and establishing ways of working that maximize strategic impact

Within 6 months, you’ll be making a clear impact through:

  • Implementing enhanced approaches to learning and belonging that drive measurable engagement and development outcomes
  • Establishing measurement frameworks that demonstrate clear ROI of learning and experience initiatives
  • Developing innovative solutions to connection and learning challenges in distributed work environments
  • Building strong cross-functional partnerships that position learning as strategic enabler of business success
  • Creating scalable frameworks that enable consistent, high-quality experiences across the organization

Within 12 months, you’ll make this role your own by:

  • Establishing distinctive learning and cultural products that enhance Sprout’s employer brand and competitive advantage
  • Creating sustainable learning systems that scale effectively with company growth and evolving business needs
  • Demonstrating measurable impact on key business metrics through learning and experience initiatives
  • Positioning learning and culture as competitive advantages in talent development and employee engagement
  • Leading a high-performing team with clear development plans and succession strategies
  • Establishing yourself as effective coach and strategic contributor who develops team capabilities while personally driving innovation

Whenever possible, Sprout wants to provide our team with the flexibility to work in the location that makes the most sense for them. Sprout maintains a remote workforce in many places in the United States. However, we are not set up in all states, so please look at the drop-down box in our application to see whether your state is listed. Few roles require an office setting. If your position requires a physical presence in a Sprout office, it will be evident in the job listing and your offer letter.

Individual base pay is based on various factors, including work location, relevant experience and skills, the responsibility of the role, and job duties/requirements. In the United States, we have two geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires are:

  • Zone 1 (New York, California, Washington): $172,040.00 (min), $215,100.00 (mid), $258,060.00 (max) USD annually
  • Zone 2 (All other US states): $156,400.00 (min), $195,500.00 (mid), $234,600.00 (max) USD annually

The listed ranges represent the full earning potential in this position. Starting salaries for well-qualified new hires are typically around the midpoint of the range. These ranges were determined by a market-based compensation approach; we used data from trusted third-party compensation sources to set equitable, consistent, and competitive ranges. We also evaluate compensation bi-annually, identify any changes in the market and make adjustments to our ranges and existing employee compensation as needed.

Base pay is only one element of an employee’s total compensation at Sprout. Every Sprout team member has an opportunity to receive restricted stock units (RSUs) under Sprout’s equity plan. Employees (and their dependents) are covered by medical, dental, vision, basic life, accidental death, and dismemberment insurance, and Modern Health (a wellness benefit).  Employees are able to enroll in Sprout’s company’s 401k plan, in which Sprout will match 50% of your contributions up to 6% with a maximum contribution. Sprout offers “Flexible Paid Time Off” and ten paid holidays. We have outlined the various components to an employee’s full compensation package here to help you to understand our total rewards package.
