About the Role

As the Director of Legal, you’ll be a foundational team member shaping the legal landscape at Doppel. You will manage all aspects of commercial agreements and corporate compliance, ensuring that our business operations remain smooth and secure as we hyperscale. The ideal candidate will deliver operational excellence and ensure a strong legal and control posture to enable the company to scale effectively and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead negotiation, drafting, and review of all commercial agreements, including SaaS, vendor, and strategic partnerships

  • Advise cross-functional teams on legal, compliance, and risk issues relating to contracts and commercial operations

  • Support corporate governance, maintaining organizational records, cap table, and supporting board matters

  • Develop and implement policies and trainings around contract management, data privacy, and regulatory compliance

  • Manage relationships with outside counsel for specialized needs (e.g., IP, employment, litigation)

  • Monitor and interpret changes in relevant laws affecting Doppel’s business, proactively adapting company policies

Minimum Requirements

  • 8–15 years of legal experience, with substantial focus on commercial contracts and SaaS/software industry

  • Demonstrated experience as in-house counsel or at a law firm supporting high-growth technology companies

  • Active bar admission in at least one U.S. state

  • Deep familiarity with B2B SaaS commercial transactions and privacy/data security frameworks

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as the first in-house legal hire or building legal process in a startup environment

  • Background in corporate governance for private technology companies

  • Prior exposure to venture financing, M&A, and employee equity plans

  • Exceptional business acumen and ability to translate legal requirements into practical business solutions
