Job description
Director of Product, Care Delivery
Virta Health is on a mission to reverse Type 2 diabetes and obesity in a billion people. Current treatment approaches aren’t working—over half of US adults have either type 2 diabetes or obesity. Virta is changing this by helping people reverse type 2 diabetes and obesity through innovations in technology, personalized nutrition, and virtual care delivery reinvented from the ground up. We have raised over $350 million from top-tier investors, and partner with the largest health plans, employers, and government organizations to help their employees and members restore their health and live diabetes-free. Join us on our mission to reverse diabetes and obesity in 1B!
We are seeking a visionary and execution-minded Director of Product - Care Delivery to redefine how care is delivered at Virta—and in the industry at large.
Scaling fast requires innovation, imagination and investment – this is a leadership opportunity to reimagine the Virta program model itself as we scale from helping 100k members to 1M and beyond. You’re accountable for achieving our mission by improving outcomes and then optimizing efficiency. You’ll lead product development across our care platform and orchestrate new ways for clinicians, coaches, data, AI, ML and traditional software to deliver high-quality, high-efficiency outcomes at scale. This includes driving the product vision for how care is initiated, managed, personalized, and continuously improved—from both a clinical and operational lens.
You’ll partner with leaders across Clinical, Engineering, Operations, and Data Science to build the systems that enable our care team to serve more members, with greater precision, and better outcomes. This is an opportunity to not only work on code, but also bring strong product thinking to evolve care team best practices. You will also manage and grow a team of product managers (including the Sr. PM of Care Delivery), with accountability for long-term clinical capacity, care model innovation, and cost-effectiveness.
Responsibilities
Define and evolve Virta’s care delivery product strategy—moving from today’s model to the next-generation platform that supports 10x scale.
Collaborate with Clinical and Operational leaders to bring strong product thinking to evolve our care model.
Build the systems and decision frameworks to drive delegation, automation, personalization, and new modes of care.
Lead and mentor a team of PMs to build intelligent workflows, decision support, internal tools, and patient-facing integrations that enable clinical scale while improving efficiency and outcomes..
Partner with Engineering, Design, Data, and AI teams to prototype, experiment, and launch solutions that shift our care curve.
Extend our care team facing AI and ML systems to continue to eliminate time spent on routine care, freeing our teams to focus on the powerful care team moments that change lives
Accountable for care delivery product OKRs: clinical team efficiency, member retention, and health outcomes.
You’ll be great for this role if you:
Have 8+ years of experience in product management or equivalent experience in healthcare delivery innovation, clinical ops, or healthcare technology.
Have experience with service design, complex workflows, or care model redesign.
Know how to build for systems—not just features—and have comfort designing across human and software boundaries.
Are at the forefront of generative AI, building ahead of the curve to make the most of exponential improvements, turning capabilities like vector spaces, LLMs, core GPT capabilities, MCP and agentic flows into powerful systems for care teams.
Are a strong collaborator with clinicians, operators, and engineers alike.
Are excited to drive measurable improvements in outcomes, while also capturing improvements in gross margin, coach capacity and happiness through workflow and systems innovation.
Have a bias toward iteration and experimentation, with experience running lean pilots or A/B tests in complex environments.
Values-driven culture
Virta’s company values drive our culture, so you’ll do well if:
You put people first and take care of yourself, your peers, and our patients equally
You have a strong sense of ownership and take initiative while empowering others to do the same
You prioritize positive impact over busy work
You have no ego and understand that everyone has something to bring to the table regardless of experience
You appreciate transparency and promote trust and empowerment through open access of information
You are evidence-based and prioritize data and science over seniority or dogma
You take risks and rapidly iterate
