What are we looking for?
We’re currently seeking a Engineer Team Lead to join the team of one of our international clients. This fast-growing tech company is redefining portfolio management in the world of mortgage trading and asset management.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on a modern platform built from the ground up, using scalable architecture and cloud-native technologies. You’ll play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining backend services, while also contributing to architectural decisions and helping to provide guidance to others across our small engineering team

Here are some of the exciting day-to-day challenges you will face in this role:
- Design, develop, and maintain the client’s platform, using TypeScript and Node.js
- Build and consume RESTful APIs for efficient and secure client-server communication
- Design clear, versioned API endpoints and maintain comprehensive internal documentation
- Integrate with third-party APIs and external systems as needed
- Work with containerised services in Docker and manage SQL within our Postgres databases
- Collaborate closely with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver end-to-end features
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to architectural and technical decisions
- Utilize CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) and cloud services (AWS) for deployment and operations
- Provide technical leadership within the backend team, influencing best practices in architecture, scalability, and performance
- Support other engineers in our small team (circa 5 engineers) through guidance, occasional pair programming, and knowledge-sharing
- Help to drive engineering standards, tooling, and processes
- Assist with keeping the engineering team organised and unblocked, in collaboration with our product manager engineering leadership
You will shine if you have these:
- Leadership capability
- Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript, NodeJS
- Experience with PostgreSQL, Sequelize
- Experience with React is a plus
- Experience with Docker
- Testing experience with Playwright
- Familiarity or knowledge with AWS
- Strong communication, client services, and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge or experience with either credit, mortgages, trading platforms, or environments is a plus.
