SUMMARY
The Business Systems Team is central to Wiz’s operational excellence and growth, ensuring the reliability and evolution of key business systems that support critical functions across the organization. Composed of technical administrators, developers, and analysts, the team focuses on maintaining and optimizing these business systems to drive efficiency and effectiveness. Combining strategic oversight with tactical execution, the Business Systems Team directly contributes to the success of Wiz’s core business objectives as the company scales.
As the Finance Systems Manager (IC), you’ll lead the strategic development, optimization, and ongoing support of financial planning and analysis (FP&A) systems, with a particular focus on Pigment. While FP&A will be your main stakeholder, you’ll also support other finance initiatives and teams, extending your impact across the entire Finance organization. This role is both strategic and tactical, demanding a blend of high-level vision and hands-on execution. You’ll need a highly driven and proactive approach, consistently taking initiative to identify opportunities for system enhancement and process improvement within the finance domain.
You’ll translate complex business requirements into robust, scalable, and data-driven system solutions. Your deep proficiency in data management, data modeling, and common query languages like SQL will be crucial for ensuring data integrity, enhancing analytical capabilities, and driving automation for critical financial processes. You’ll need exceptional detail-orientation to ensure accuracy and precision in data models, system configurations, and financial reporting. A strong sense of autonomy will be vital, allowing you to own projects and workstreams from end-to-end with minimal supervision, while effectively collaborating with stakeholders and building strong relationships across Finance and other cross-functional teams.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Lead as the primary Finance Systems expert for FP&A, guiding on system best practices, new functionalities, and integration, primarily for Pigment.
- Design and optimize data models within Pigment and integrated financial systems to enhance FP&A capabilities.
- Leverage advanced SQL skills to manage, transform, and ensure accuracy of financial data across systems for Pigment and analytical needs.
- Drive continuous improvement of Pigment’s performance, data accuracy, and user experience for the FP&A team.
- Own end-to-end business analysis and finance systems workstreams for assigned FP&A initiatives, from requirements to post-launch support.
- Strategically partner with FP&A leadership and stakeholders to translate objectives into impactful system improvements and prioritize initiatives.
- Expertly solicit and refine business requirements, creating thorough, maintained project artifacts with a focus on technical and integration needs.
- Collaborate with technical teams during execution planning to build detailed user stories and ensure alignment on system and integration design.
- Establish and maintain robust data governance standards within Pigment to ensure data integrity and reliability for financial reporting.
- Proactively identify and implement solutions for process deficiencies within finance systems, especially those related to data flows and Pigment integrations.
- Manage multiple concurrent finance systems projects, coordinating timelines, resources, and complex data integrations.
- Provide expert-level support and training to FP&A end-users, boosting system adoption and proficiency.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- 10+ years of progressive experience in a Business Systems Analyst or Finance Systems Manager role, with a significant portion dedicated to financial planning and analysis systems in a SaaS environment.
- 3+ years of specialization in EPM/CPM solutions (e.g., Pigment, Anaplan, Adaptive Planning, Hyperion Planning, OneStream), with demonstrated hands-on expertise in Pigment highly preferred.
- Exceptional proficiency in data modeling and designing robust, scalable data structures for complex financial calculations and reporting.
- Mandatory advanced SQL skills, including complex queries, stored procedures, and understanding database schemas (Snowflake, SQL Server, PostgreSQL experience is a plus).
- Proven expertise in business analysis, requirements gathering, and process mapping within finance systems, especially supporting FP&A data flows.
- Critical technical aptitude, with proven experience integrating financial systems (particularly Pigment) with various back-office systems (e.g., ERP, HRIS) and custom services/technology via APIs or integration platforms.
- Proficiency with project management tools like Jira; experience in Kanban or agile environments preferred.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, effectively engaging stakeholders across Finance and Product.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail in complex financial workflows, data transformations, and integration points.
