Job Description
The Finance Specialist will be a key member of the team responsible for budgeting and forecasting, reporting month end results with analysis, and publishing performance against key KPI’s for the Americas portion of Hitachi Solutions. The ideal candidate would be responsible for planning and analyzing employee expenses, preparing and validating key KPI reports, working with the team to prepare forecasts/budgets, and performing ad hoc analysis as requested.
Key tasks and responsibilities
Personnel Cost Monitoring and Expenses Forecasting:
- Track new employee hires, department transfers, and departures to ensure the forecasted roster and expense are accurately stated.
- Coordinate with offshore and contractor management teams to forecast and track employee expenses accurately.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and track expenses such as travel, software costs, amortization, and other operating expenses.
- Prepare month-end financial entries as required.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare, distribute, and review month-end reports with team members from outside the finance function.
- Utilize financial ledger and other systems to perform variance analysis against budgeted and forecasted expenses.
- Provide financial information and analysis upon request.
- Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of weekly and monthly KPI reports.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 3-5 years of experience in business finance or a related field.
- Experience in the professional services industry and with D365 is desirable.
Knowledge:
- Proficient with standard office applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
- Strong fluency in Excel formulas and functions, including pivot tables, vlookup, sorting large data sets, and basic formula usage.
- Experience with ERP systems or accounting software.
Skills:
- Ability to communicate effectively in business English.
- Strong analytical and data gathering skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Self-motivated and independent in completing tasks.
- Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously to ensure timeliness.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with confidence in interacting with executive-level management.
