Job Description

The instructional design lead combines deep instructional design expertise with the ability to manage the development of multiple training programs through the creation of instructor-led and online training content.   The ID Lead will build the foundation with the creation of instructional design standards, definitions, and templates for our courses and certification programs. The ID Lead will partner with subject matter experts (SMEs), cross-functional teams, to build learning programs that support the growth of our partners and employees. This role requires strong leadership and expertise in designing standards and templates, curriculum design, and learning technologies and ability to work across global time zones in a remote environment.

Responsibilities :

Certification Course Templates, Standards, and Processes

  • Develop standards with definitions, processes (creating SOPs), and templates for ILT and Articulate RISE aligned to adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) to create engaging, effective learning experiences.
  • Implement and communicate the standards, processes and templates to all content creators.
  • Ensure standards are adhered to across the organization by all content creators.

Instructional Design & Content Development

  • Collaborate with SMEs and stakeholders to understand learning objectives and performance needs.  Ensure SMEs review and approve final published product.
  • Design and develop instructional materials including eLearning modules, ILT content, job aids, assessments, and video assets.

eLearning Development & Digital Learning

  • Utilize authoring tools (e.g., Articulate RISE, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia) to develop and deploy interactive online learning modules and assessments.

  • Integrate multimedia elements—such as videos and simulations—to increase learner engagement and retention.

  • Load courses into Workday Learning, test, troubleshoot, and optimize courses for accessibility and compatibility across platforms and devices.

Project & Program Management

  • Manage and oversee multiple instructional development projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and stakeholder alignment.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure training content aligns with organizational strategies.

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with learning technologies, including Workday Learning LMS, Questionmark assessment tool, eLearning development tools (e.g., Articulate RISE, Adobe Captivate), and AI capabilities to drive learning experience and design/development.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Ability to manage day-to-day operations of content development and management of multiple projects.

  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality learning solutions that drive measurable business outcomes.

  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and how to apply them in the workplace

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

  • 5+ years of experience in learning and development, with at least 2 years in a lead role overseeing instructional design, learning experience design, and/or program development teams.

  • Proven experience in leading multiple projects.

  • Strong expertise in instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) and experience with a wide range of learning formats (e.g., eLearning, ILT, blended learning).

  • Certification in instructional design (e.g., ATD, CPTD) or project management (e.g., PMP) preferred.

  • Experience with agile learning development methodologies preferred.
