World Business Lenders (WBL) provides general purpose short-term real estate collateralized commercial loans to a broad customer base comprised of small and medium sized businesses throughout the United States that lack access to traditional funding.
This is a Contract/Consultant position. Generally, working hours will be 9:00am-6:00pm Eastern Time, Monday through Friday, although hours worked may be greater based upon operational requirements. The job requires excellent oral and written command of the English language.
Responsibilities:
Assist Litigation Counsel in developing legal strategies and drafting responses for litigation matters, regulatory inquiries, and government investigations.
Prepare, organize, and review legal documentation including pleadings, exhibits, case summaries, and discovery materials.
Coordinate communication and documentation workflows between internal departments and external legal counsel.
Collect and compile relevant information, records, and evidence to support active cases or investigations.
Track litigation case statuses and maintain organized files, ensuring timely updates to stakeholders.
Support preparation of legal budgets; monitor and report on litigation expenses and external legal spend.
Help maintain and update internal policies, procedures, and reporting protocols related to litigation and regulatory compliance.
Draft internal legal correspondence, case summaries, and status reports as directed by Litigation Counsel.
Assist with legal due diligence, contract review, and information requests related to ongoing or potential disputes.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of case files, court filings, deadlines, and correspondence. (Weekly review)
Provide daily administrative support such as scheduling meetings, managing case calendars, and preparing presentations or memos.
Support audits, regulatory reviews, or enforcement actions with organized document production and coordination.
Contribute to improving internal litigation processes, including workflow optimization and knowledge management.
Act as a liaison between the legal team and business units to ensure legal requests are fulfilled promptly and accurately.
Perform other litigation-related tasks and legal projects as assigned.
Law degree (Juris Doctor or international equivalent, such as LLB or LLM); U.S. law school preferred
3-4 years of legal operations or litigation support experience, preferably within financial services, real estate, or a law firm setting.
Strong understanding of litigation processes, discovery, document management, and legal filings.
Excellent English communication skills (both written and verbal).
Demonstrated organizational and time management skills in high-volume, deadline-driven environments.
Tech-savvy and proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe; experience with legal matter management tools is a plus.
Strong legal research, documentation, and writing skills.
Detail-oriented with excellent follow-through and the ability to work independent
