Job Summary:
The Managerial Reporting Lead will oversee the preparation and delivery of managerial accounting and reporting across multiple projects within the group. This role involves leading a team, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of reports, and developing a robust managerial accounting policy. Additionally, the Managerial Reporting Lead will drive the automation of managerial accounting processes and contribute to strategic decision-making by providing actionable financial insights.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Managerial Reporting
• Preparation of timely and accurate managerial reports for multiple projects and entities within the group.
• Ensure reports are tailored to meet the needs of key stakeholders, including senior management and project leads.
• Monitor intercompany transactions to ensure proper allocation in managerial reporting.
• Coordinate with statutory accounting teams to ensure alignment between statutory and managerial reporting.
• Develop ad hoc reports and analyses as requested by senior management.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality and efficiency of reporting.
2. Managerial Accounting Policy Development
• Establish and maintain a comprehensive managerial accounting policy that aligns with the company’s objectives.
• Regularly review and update policies to reflect changes in business operations, projects, or external requirements.
• Standardize reporting formats and processes across all projects and entities.
• Implement internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of managerial accounting data.
3. Team Leadership and Development
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of managerial accountants to ensure high performance and professional growth.
• Allocate resources effectively to meet reporting deadlines and improve efficiency.
• Foster a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.
• Provide training to team members and stakeholders on managerial accounting concepts and tools.
4. Automation and Process Improvement
• Collaborate with IT and relevant departments to identify and implement automation solutions for managerial accounting processes.
• Streamline workflows to reduce manual efforts and improve the speed and accuracy of reporting.
• Evaluate and integrate financial reporting tools, dashboards, and systems to enhance efficiency.
Key Qualifications and Skills:
Education & Certification
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• ACCA, CMA, or equivalent professional qualification (preferred).
Experience
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in managerial accounting and reporting, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Proven experience in developing managerial accounting policies and overseeing reporting for complex projects or business units.
• Hands-on experience with financial automation tools or ERP systems.
Skills
• Strong knowledge of managerial accounting principles and practices.
• Advanced analytical skills with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• High proficiency in Excel and financial analysis.
Languages
• English - Intermediate; knowledge of other relevant languages is an advantage
