Member Engagement Copywriter

💰 $100k-$120k

Job description

About Carrot:

Carrot is the leading global fertility, family-building, and lifelong hormonal healthcare platform providing care for everyone, everywhere. Trusted by more than a thousand multinational employers, health plans, and health systems, Carrot’s comprehensive clinical program delivers industry-leading cost savings for employers and award-winning experiences for millions of people worldwide. From maternity through menopause and pre-pregnancy through parenting, Carrot is dedicated to expanding access and improving outcomes. Carrot empowers members with compassionate, personalized, and inclusive support.

The Role:

We’re looking for a curious and collaborative Member Engagement Copywriter with a sharp eye for detail to champion B2C copywriting for the Growth & Engagement Team at Carrot. This role is responsible for crafting clear, compelling copy across a variety of touchpoints, including lifecycle emails, webinars, enrollment assets, direct mail, and more.

Success in this role requires expertise in crafting short-form copy that captures attention and drives action — whether it’s subject lines that increase open rates or CTAs that boost conversions. The content this copywriter creates will support individuals through a wide range of journeys,  from exploring reproductive health and pregnancy to parenting or seeking relief from menopause or low testosterone. All copy should align with Carrot’s brand voice, reflect the ever-evolving product experience, resonate with distinct audiences, and drive engagement.

The ideal candidate is an empathetic, insight-driven communicator who combines a love of language with the ability to research, understand, and thoughtfully address the diverse needs of our eligible and enrolled members.

The Team:

We’re a team of high performers excited to welcome a new member to our bright, caring, and passionate Growth & Engagement Team. We focus on helping eligible employees understand what Carrot offers, how to enroll, and how to make the most of their benefits. This role reports to our Content Strategist and collaborates with marketing, product, and other teams to continuously evolve, elevate, and codify how Carrot communicates with its members.

Responsibilities:

  • Own end-to-end copywriting efforts for our eligible and enrolled member audiences — from initial concepting to final QA — across enrollment one-pagers, direct mailers, webinar materials, landing pages, and lifecycle communications (email, SMS, and push notifications)
  • Craft clear, persuasive, conversion-centric, and on-brand copy that drives measurable engagement, behavior change, and positive health outcomes
  • Write and update copy for evolving product features, making complex concepts clear and accessible to eligible and enrolled members with diverse needs and interests
  • Work with lifecycle marketing managers to craft personalized and dynamic member emails based on unique benefit plan designs, user preferences, and care needs
  • Contribute to member content strategy and ensure copy aligns with broader marketing, product, and business objectives
  • Review and edit copy, incorporating feedback and maintaining consistency across channels
  • Provide and receive constructive feedback within a team of writers, medical experts, and more, while advocating for thoughtful language choices
  • Continuously test and optimize messaging to improve engagement, conversions, and positive outcomes for our members

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as English, communications, marketing, journalism, or creative writing
  • 4–8 years of experience as a proven copywriter, UX writer, or in a similar role at a high-growth company, ideally in B2C, B2B2C, or D2C spaces
  • Has led the writing of email nurture journeys for lifecycle, personalized to the end user of a B2C service or product — experience with developing dynamic content or leveraging AI for content generation is a plus
  • Proven ability to write for a variety of formats and channels — email, push, SMS, and direct mail — for distinct audiences across the full member lifecycle experience
  • Strong UX writing skills and experience simplifying complex product information for users to take action
  • Experience writing webinars or online class content, from the landing page to the script and presentation slides
  • Demonstrated success optimizing copy to drive conversions, engagement, and revenue
  • Excellent communication skills and comfort working independently and cross-functionally
  • Known for extreme attention to detail, experienced in providing final reviews and ensuring all copy is free from errors

Compensation:

Carrot offers a holistic Total Rewards package designed to support our employees in all aspects of their life inside and outside of work, including health and wellness benefits, retirement savings plans, short- and long-term incentives, parental leave, family-forming assistance, and a competitive compensation package. The starting base salary for this position will range from $100,000-$120,000. Actual compensation may vary from posted base salary depending on your confirmed job-related skills and experience.
