About the Role

As an Operations Manager, you will have a significant, lasting impact on Wheel’s Operations. From optimizing clinician scheduling to supporting clinicians, you’ll help support the future of operations here at Wheel.

To achieve the above, you’ll work closely with a cross-functional team including product managers, engineers, clinician advocates, and clients to build creative solutions to tough problems and quickly validate them.

If working with a close-knit group of smart and hungry colleagues solving the hardest operational problems gets you excited, we’d love to hear from you!

What You’ll Do:

  • Marketplace & Workforce Strategy

    • Build and maintain scalable workforce models, including staffing, utilization, and prioritization strategies aligned to forecasted demand.

    • Identify supply gaps and develop strategic plans to improve marketplace coverage, clinician engagement, and fulfillment rates.

  • Data Analysis & Tooling

    • Design and maintain dashboards, trackers, and automations to support KPIs, incentives, quality, and COGS oversight.

    • Analyze performance data and translate insights into operational narratives that drive stakeholder buy-in and decision-making.

  • Cross-Functional Operations

    • Partner with Legal, Product, and Engineering teams to influence roadmap decisions, build compliant workflows, and improve clinician and patient experiences.

    • Serve as a launch lead or advisor on strategic client rollouts, new care verticals, and regulatory changes requiring network or platform adaptations.

  • Project Management

    • Drive high-priority projects from ideation through execution, coordinating with internal teams and stakeholders.

    • Maintain momentum across competing priorities while keeping deliverables organized and transparent.

  • Team & Stakeholder Engagement

    • Manage offshore support resources and collaborate closely with the broader Marketplace and Clinical teams.

    • Help facilitate Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) and executive reporting for major client accounts.

Who You Are

  • 3–6+ years experience in Operations, Strategy, or Workforce Management, preferably in a high-growth tech or healthcare startup.

Experience designing and managing workforce models, coverage plans, or scheduling infrastructure at scale.

  • Advanced proficiency with Excel/Google Sheets; experience with SQL, Looker, or dash-boarding tools strongly required.

  • Strong analytical skills and a comfort level telling stories through data.

  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with Product, Legal, Clinical, and Client teams.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills—you can flex between operational detail and executive-level context.

  • Highly self-motivated, organized, and capable of owning complex workstreams end-to-end.

  • Experience building processes, automating tasks, and making things more efficient.

  • Team player that enjoys working cross functionally.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Additional Nice to Haves

  • Experience working with remote clinician networks or other two-sided marketplaces.

  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks related to Telehealth or provider licensing.

  • Background in management consulting or healthcare operations is a plus.

  • Experience with Python.
