Job description
We are seeking a dependable and experienced Family Law Paralegal with a strong personality to support a legal practice focused on matters such as divorce, custody, child support, and related filings. This is a fully remote position for someone who can work independently, communicate clearly, and confidently interact with clients in emotional or high-stress situations. The ideal candidate is professional, assertive yet courteous, highly organized, and open to feedback. You’ll work closely with the attorney, assisting with case preparation, document drafting, and day-to-day operations. Responsibilities
• Draft and format legal documents for family law matters (divorce, custody, child support, etc.)
• Prepare and manage filings for California courts
• Communicate directly with clients in a clear, professional, and empathetic manner
• Track deadlines and proactively manage follow-ups on open case tasks
• Format documents using Microsoft Word, following provided templates
• Organize and manage digital documents using Adobe Acrobat and internal systems
• Conduct basic legal research as needed
• Collaborate with the attorney and adjust to feedback and preferences
• Assist with general paralegal tasks and administrative support
- 3+ years of experience as a paralegal, including experience in family law (divorce, custody, child support, etc.) is required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English
- Willing to follow the attorney’s preferred formatting and document style
- Experience with California law is a plus
- Familiarity with AI tools is a preferred
- Strong personality: confident, firm, and professional in handling sensitive client interactions
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM PST (remote)
