Job description
Hi there!
We’re Sweed, a product-driven startup building an all-in-one cannabis retail platform. We’re on the lookout for a Product Owner to join our team remotely and help us scale and optimize our platform.
About Us
At Sweed, we’re reimagining how cannabis retailers operate. Our enterprise-grade platform combines POS, eCommerce, Marketing, Analytics and Inventory Management into a single, seamless solution—eliminating the need for multiple third-party tools.
We believe in simplicity, efficiency, and innovation. That’s why we build for scalability and performance, making life easier for cannabis retailers while driving real business growth.
Why We’re Doing This
At Sweed, we believe in the medicinal potential of cannabis. It has been shown to help with chronic pain, anxiety, depression, and many other conditions. Despite the lingering stigma, we see cannabis as a powerful tool for improving lives.
The industry is evolving rapidly, and we’re here to drive that transformation—making cannabis retail more efficient, accessible, and customer-friendly.
Where We Are Now
We’ve been on the market for 6 years, continuously growing and refining our product. Our focus is on earning customer trust, which means constantly improving our delivery processes and rolling out new features. At the same time, we navigate the complex legal landscape of the cannabis industry, ensuring our platform remains compliant and future-proof.
What You’ll Be Working On
Take ownership of sales-related analytics, reporting, and insights throughout the customer lifecycle. Develop dashboards and reporting mechanisms for leadership to track performance and opportunities.
Constantly analyze business metrics, models, and dashboards to identify growth points and improve algorithms and decision-making processes.
Deeply understand stakeholder business models, strategic goals, pain points, and the underlying data ecosystem and integrations to drive impactful analytics.
Track team progress against goals, provide support, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
What We’re Looking For
Experience & leadership: you have 5+ years of experience in data analytics within product companies, including 2+ years in a managerial role, leading high-performing medium-sized teams. Experience in fast-paced startup environments is a strong advantage.
Communication & influence: You are fluent in English with superb communication and leadership skills, able to decompose complex solutions into clear, actionable insights for the company. You can positively influence team members and communicate openly.
You are passionate about leveraging data to fuel business growth, optimize decision-making, and drive impact. You can analyze business models, stakeholder needs, and strategic goals to align analytics efforts with business priorities.
You are a proactive self-starter with a disciplined work ethic, able to manage multiple tasks and priorities within deadlines in fast-paced, high-impact environments.
You stay ahead of industry trends and tools to ensure best-in-class analytics and measurement practices.
You are familiar with modern warehousing solutions like AWS S3 or Snowflake.
