The Role
We are looking for a Senior QA Engineer who brings more than just test execution. This role demands a strategic, user-focused thinker—someone who can deconstruct complex systems into testable components, craft meaningful user journey validations, and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure every release upholds the highest quality standards.
As a Senior QA Engineer, you will take end-to-end ownership of customer workflow validation— designing, executing, optimizing, and automating tests that mirror real-world user behavior. Your work will directly impact the quality and reliability of products powered by Generative AI, Salesforce, and AWS-based services.
A core part of your role will involve designing and maintaining robust automation suites that span UI, API, and integration layers. You’ll work with cutting-edge tools and frameworks, and leverage AI-powered capabilities for test generation, intelligent test data creation, and smarter prioritisation of test scenarios. We’re building next-gen automation practices—and you’ll help shape them from the ground up.
This role requires a strong foundation in exploratory testing, test planning, and automation frameworks, along with a commitment to process optimization and innovation. You’ll partner closely with SDETs, developers, and product managers to identify high-impact scenarios, increase automation coverage, and advocate for quality-first development.
The Responsibilities:
Test Strategy, Planning & Execution
- Own the QA lifecycle from planning to execution for complex features and user workflows.
- Collaborate with Product Managers and Designers to define high-impact, user-centric test scenarios.
- Review stories and acceptance criteria, raising questions to ensure clarity and testability.
- Create test plans covering positive, negative, edge cases, and real-world behavior.
- Perform exploratory, functional, regression, and usability testing across Salesforce, Generative AI, and AWS-based services.
User-Centric Quality Advocacy
- Act as the voice of the user by identifying usability issues and broken journeys.
- Test beyond “happy paths” to ensure reliable, intuitive user experiences.
- Foster a quality-first culture through proactive feedback and collaboration.
Automation Engineering
- Build and maintain automation suites for UI, API, and integration using modern tools.
- Embed automation in CI/CD for fast, reliable feedback loops.
- Use AI tools for generating test cases, data, and exploratory coverage.
- Optimize the balance between manual and automated testing.
Defect Management & Quality Insight
- Log detailed, reproducible defects with supporting data and impact analysis.
- Collaborate with engineers for quick resolution and root cause analysis.
- Track and report quality trends to drive continuous improvement.
Collaboration & Agile Participation
- Align with QA Architects, SDETs, and cross-functional teams on quality goals.
- Contribute to agile ceremonies with clear testing updates.
- Work with DevOps and SREs to validate builds and ensure release readiness.
Continuous Learning & AI Tooling Exposure
- Embrace advanced QA tools including AI-based platforms and self-healing suites.
- Continuously explore new tools and methodologies.
- Share insights to strengthen team-wide QA practices.
Must-Have Skills
- 4–7 years of QA experience in web, SaaS, or enterprise applications with a proven track record of delivering high-quality releases.
- Strong understanding of test design techniques, exploratory testing, test planning, and the defect lifecycle.
- Hands-on experience with Playwright (or similar modern test automation frameworks) for web UI testing, with the ability to design scalable, maintainable test suites.
- Exposure to API testing using tools like Postman, REST clients, or test automation frameworks with integrated API layers.
- Experience testing Salesforce or other CRM systems, with an understanding of their workflows, permission models, and dynamic UI behavior.
- User-first QA mindset—able to translate user needs into meaningful test coverage across real-world scenarios, including edge and failure cases.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work closely with developers, SDETs, and product teams in agile environments.
- Readiness to grow in a hybrid QA+Automation role, continuously learning new tools and improving test processes.
Nice-to-Have
- Familiarity with AI/ML concepts or AI-driven testing tools (e.g., test generation, intelligent data creation, or test prioritization).
- Exposure to testing Generative AI applications or systems involving complex user interactions.
- Experience in fast-paced, startup-like environments where adaptability, ownership, and innovation are key.
- Knowledge of performance testing fundamentals or tools like JMeter, k6, or Artillery.
