Through our platform, we enable patients to be active and engaged participants in their own care, and take control of their care journey. In addition to image sharing, which is the heart of the PocketHealth platform, we’ve grown our core functionality to enable sharing between hospitals and physicians, as well as instant image retrieval and automated importing capability. PocketHealth is a unified image management solution for over 800 hospitals and clinics across North America. As a Senior DevOps Engineer on our Platform Team, you’ll be at the heart of our engineering organization. Not only will you design and implement robust, scalable, and highly reliable infrastructure, but you’ll supercharge our feature teams by developing useful tools and reusable software libraries. Your innate curiosity and collaborative nature will inspire you to look for ways to improve workflows through tooling, documentation and outreach, and you will champion a culture of constant improvement.
In this role you will:
- Design and operate critical infrastructure, including Kubernetes, MySQL and Azure services
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines
- Leverage observability to ensure operational health of the PocketHealth ecosystem
- Manage networking, DNS & WAF
- Engage with other engineering teams to gain insights, gather feedback, share best practices and solve problems & pain points
- Enhance the developer experience by developing high-quality shared code and tooling, and actively communicating best practices
- Design, maintain and improve core services & automation solutions
What you’ll need to be successful:
- Bachelor’s degree (Software Engineering, Computer Science or similar) or equivalent industry experience
- 7+ years DevOps experience with a cloud like Azure
- Comfortable writing and maintaining software (Go)
- A collaborative mindset, strong communication skills, and a proven ability to partner with teams across an organization
- A strong sense of ownership
- Ability to deliver solutions for ambiguous or open-ended problems
- Expertise configuring and operating Kubernetes resources
- Experience developing cloud-native services
- Use or adoption of observability (OpenTelemetry) to build dashboards and alerts
- Knowledge of MySQL administration & SQL query optimization
Nice to haves:
- Experience maintaining Infrastructure as Code with Terraform
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD systems
- Linux system administration
- Knowledge of information security best practices
- Managing public/private networks and DNS
