Overall purpose and responsibilities of the role:
The Sr. Fund Accountant will play a key role in the finance group, working closely with the Finance Director to oversee fund accounting operations and provide strategic financial insights. This individual will supervise and mentor the Associate Fund Accountant, ensuring accuracy and efficiency while overseeing the preparation and review of financial statements related to funds and investments. With a strong understanding of the investment landscape, the Sr. Fund Accountant will contribute to sound financial practices, identify opportunities for improvement, and bring an innovative, solutions-oriented approach to enhancing financial processes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Review quarterly NAV closing and financial statements from fund admin
Review and validate fund expenses and fee calculations
Assist in the preparation and review of investor statements and reports
Conduct document retention reviews
Review data on investor and GP portals
Input and review portfolio company information in software
Ensure compliance with fund accounting policies and procedures
Collaborate with external auditors during fund audits
Support regulatory reporting requirements
Assist Tax Director with various tax compliance tasks
Assist in the valuation of level 3 financial instruments
Perform other duties as directed by Finance Directors or CFO
Bachelors degree in Accounting; CPA certification strongly preferred
Should have 6 – 8 years of fund accounting experience; Must be from Private Equity industries
Experience working directly with US audit teams is advantageous
Must have prior experience with US GAAP or IFRS
Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
Detail-oriented, flexible, and capable of working under pressure
Ability to manage both routine and complex tasks simultaneously
Self-motivated and able to work independently, handling tasks with minimal instruction while understanding the strategic purpose behind them.
Proficiency in reviewing financial statements and capital statements with accuracy and attention to detail
Strong organizational skills to document and present information clearly for efficient review by leadership
Should be proficient in MS Suite, especially Excel, Adobe and any relevant reporting tools

Emp type: Direct hire; Full-time
Schedule: Monday to Friday, Starting at 11 PM (Philippine time) / 9 AM (US Mountain Time) for the first few months; Once the candidates are fully trained and able to work with less supervision, they may shift to a schedule starting at 5 AM (Philippine time) or 3 PM (Mountain Time).
