Job description

About the Job:

LaunchDarkly is seeking an experienced Product Manager to join our growing Experimentation team and help shape the future of how product delivery teams measure the success of new features. This role will be instrumental in delivering an ambitious roadmap that empowers customers to make data-driven decisions through trusted experimentation capabilities.

You’ll work as part of a triad partnership with Engineering and Design peers at the intersection of developer tools, analytics, and experimentation platforms; focusing on customer research, strategic planning, and roadmap delivery to drive our experimentation platform forward. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative environment, has experience with B2B data, analytics, or experimentation products, and can translate technical complexity into user-friendly solutions that propel our customers and our business to success.

Responsibilities:

  • Product strategy: Own market/customer research, product strategy, and product roadmap for your experimentation ownership areas. Develop opinions on how to win both now and in the future.

  • Customer discovery: Engage deeply with customers to identify opportunities and needs. Translate these insights into actionable feature projects and long term strategy.

  • Product development: Collaborate with engineering and design to deliver exceptional customer experiences that deliver business value.

  • Project leadership: Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of product builds, including writing PRDs, scoping, pricing, planning, and ensuring timely, high-quality delivery in partnership with your Engineer and Design partners.

  • Customer relationships: Act as a primary point of contact for our Experimentation customers, maintaining strong relationships and providing ongoing support and guidance to our customers.

  • End-to-end ownership: Partner with marketing and cross functional teams including sales, customer success and support teams, to define Go-To-Market plans and strategy for experimentation features.

About You:

  • Curious: You enjoy learning and are able to build opinions and expertise quickly across many domains.

  • Collaborative: You excel at collaborating across the company. You can move easily between business stakeholders, product peers, and design and development partners.

  • Customer-centric: You are driven to understand customer challenges and needs, crafting solutions that achieve business goals and provide real value.

  • Business acumen: You understand how technical solutions tie to business objectives and can align projects to meet customer and company goals.

  • Great Communicator: You can effectively advocate for the best problems to solve, strategic considerations, or user experience.

  • High agency: You are motivated to achieve success and have a strong sense of ownership to deliver great outcomes across a broad range of responsibilities. Even if it’s not your responsibility, if you see something that needs to be done, you make sure it happens.

  • Product sense: You appreciate well-crafted software. You have a strong focus on craft, quality, and the ability to deeply empathize with the end user to deliver delightful experiences.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of product experience especially with developer tools, data, analytics, or experimentation products.

  • Proven track record of successfully bringing products to market in B2B market.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into user-friendly product features.

  • Experience running online Experiments to inform decisions for their features and product

  • Passion for data and a deep understanding of how customers use and interact with data products.

Bonus (but not required)

  • Experience Building Experimentation platforms for internal or external customers

  • Experience working on a Growth team with a culture of experimentation

About LaunchDarkly:

Modern software delivery was supposed to be the foundation for a thriving digital business but reality has proven otherwise. Slow, inefficient development cycles, costly outages, and fragmented customer experiences are preventing developers from building their best software. The LaunchDarkly platform helps developers innovate on new features faster while protecting them with a safety valve to instantly rewind when things go wrong. Developers can target product experiences to any customer segment and maximize the business impact of every feature. And by gradually rolling out new application components, they escape nightmare “big-bang” technology migrations.

The LaunchDarkly platform was built to guide engineers to the next frontier of DevOps by:

  • Improving the velocity and stability of software releases, without the fear of end customer outages
  • Delivering targeted experiences by easily personalizing features to customer cohorts
  • Maximizing the business impact of every feature through the ability to experiment and optimize
  • Coordinating the release and optimization of software to provide consistent experiences across mobile platforms and device types
  • Improving the effectiveness and productivity of engineering teams, by providing insights into engineering cadence and stability
