Senior Sales Manager

🇩🇪 Germany - Remote
💼 Sales🟣 Senior

Job description

Help us decarbonize the cement and concrete industry.

alcemy was founded to reduce the massive CO2 footprint of the cement and concrete industry. Concrete is humanity’s second most used material by volume and its production is responsible for around 5-8% of global CO2 emissions.

We are changing this! We leverage machine learning to provide smart production control software to the cement and concrete supply chain to improve efficiency and allow for the production of low-carbon cement and concrete at large scale. Our software is used 247 in cement and concrete plants to optimize production and reduce carbon emissions today. We are currently enabling our customers to save more than 100 000 tons of CO2 emissions each year and we aim to save 100 million tons per year in 2030.

Your Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the entire sales cycle for both new and existing customers in the DACH region.
  • Drive the adoption of our SaaS solutions in the concrete industry by identifying, engaging, and closing high-potential opportunities.
  • Conduct in-depth needs assessments and technical evaluations to craft value-driven solutions.
  • Build compelling business cases that clearly articulate ROI and strategic impact across multiple scenarios and decision levers.
  • Deliver impactful presentations, lead WebApp demos, and negotiate contracts with stakeholders at all levels—covering everything from first contact to closing, renewals, and rollouts.
  • Monitor market trends and competitive landscape to uncover new business opportunities and adapt sales strategies accordingly.
  • Represent alcemy at industry conferences and associations to strengthen brand visibility and grow our network.
  • Work closely with Business Development to qualify leads and align on targeted marketing campaigns.
  • Partner with the Customer Success team to nurture existing relationships and unlock account growth.
  • Act as the voice of the customer internally by providing structured feedback and prioritizing needs in collaboration with the Product team.
  • Be open to regular travel across the region and enjoy the flexibility of working from home or from our Berlin office.

Your Profile

  • Strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication, and proven negotiation expertise.
  • A degree in business, mathematics, or a related field—ideally combined with professional experience in the concrete industry, materials science, or civil engineering.
  • 2–3+ years of experience in B2B sales, paired with a strong technical understanding.
  • A proven track record of successfully acquiring, managing, and expanding customer accounts.
  • Works independently and reliably, with a mindset that’s ambitious, innovative, and empathetic.
  • Stands out through authentic presence, high integrity, and the ability to build trust quickly.
  • Excels in prioritizing tasks, staying focused, and navigating challenging situations with resilience.
  • Willingness to travel regularly
  • Fluency in both German and English complete the profile.

What we offer:

  • A company culture built on honesty, professionalism, and integrity — with open feedback, regular 1:1s, and a strong commitment to personal growth.
  • Flat hierarchies, fast decision-making, and an agile company structure.
  • A competitive salary based on your experience.
  • VSOP equity options with 4-year vesting (based on a 40-hour full-time role).
  • A fully equipped, attractive workspace in Berlin.
  • Of course: free drinks, fruit, and snacks at the office.
  • Team events and offsites several times a year.
  • Your choice of Mac or Linux laptop.
  • A personal and professional development budget of €1,500 per year plus 3 days per quarter.
  • English as our primary language of communication.
  • 28 vacation days per year, plus one additional day for every 2 years of employment at alcemy.
  • Access to nilo.health – a holistic mental wellbeing platform offering 1:1 sessions with psychologists, group formats, and self-guided tools.
  • A dog-friendly office with clear rules and dog-free zones, ensuring everyone feels comfortable.
  • Regular knowledge sharing through our internal Masterclasses.
  • Work fully remote within Germany or from our office in the heart of Berlin, with flexible working hours. We offer an employment contract with Berlin as the official location and a remote clause — so Berlin public holidays apply.

Work at alcemy

  • We place great value on transparency and direct feedback, and we’re always open to ideas on how to improve the way we work together.
  • Our developers take full ownership of their features — from implementation and testing to code reviews and deployment.
  • There’s no on-call duty.
  • We’re actively building a structured career development framework that supports both technical expert and leadership paths.
  • We’re passionate about helping our customers and committed to fostering a supportive and respectful team environment.

Hiring process

  • Initial 1:1 Intro Call (30 minutes)
  • Team Interview (45 minutes)
  • Take-Home Assignment – a practical task closely aligned with your future role
  • Technical Interview (90 minutes)
  • Reference Check – we’ll contact two references of your choice (e.g., former colleagues)
  • Final Decision

We strongly encourage candidates from all backgrounds to apply. We also understand that interviews can be stressful. If there’s anything we can do to make the process more comfortable or help you show your strengths in the best possible way, please let us know. You’re welcome to reach out to Magdalena Milecka at [email protected].

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) at alcemy

Over the past two years, we’ve been committed to improving diversity and inclusion across our company. We’ve hosted DEI workshops and established a dedicated working group. By actively collecting feedback, offering team training, and welcoming new ideas, we’ve already made meaningful progress:

  • Flexible working hours to help you better balance your work and personal life.
  • Access to nilo.health, including sessions with practitioners representing underrepresented groups.
  • A diverse team to collaborate with – our members represent a wide range of ages, ethnicities, religions, gender identities, and sexual orientations.
  • No fixed vacation periods – take time off for religious holidays, personal occasions, or whenever it suits you best.
  • Open feedback culture, including 1:1s with team leads, AMA sessions with the founders, and regular engagement surveys.

We are dedicated to building a workplace where everyone feels valued and included. Our journey toward greater diversity, equity, and inclusion is ongoing, and we’re excited about the progress still ahead.
