Ivanti is seeking a talented Senior DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic DevOps team based in San Jose, CA. This position offers flexibility, allowing you to work remotely or from our San Jose office. As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will play a critical role in driving our mission to empower product development teams to deliver software seamlessly and efficiently. Your contributions will directly support organizations in creating secure, innovative solutions that elevate the Everywhere Workplace experience.

By combining market insights, strategic planning, and cross-functional collaboration, the Engineering organization ensures every product release meets evolving user needs and competitive demands. This team is instrumental in developing Ivanti’s purpose-built platform for CIOs and CISOs powered by Ivanti Neurons - a cloud-scale, hyperautomation layer that enables proactive healing, user-friendly security across the organization and provides an enhanced user experience. This department plays a pivotal role in shaping the company’s growth trajectory through continuous innovation and customer-centric solutions.
What You Will Be Doing
As a member of a Scrum team, you’ll collaborate closely with your colleagues to tackle complex challenges while navigating constraints such as cost and execution time. Your initial focus will be on infrastructure development for our Ivanti Neurons for MDM product.
Our team leverages the extensive capabilities of public cloud services, primarily Azure, to provide a robust platform for our applications. We rely heavily on Terraform and Python, while remaining open to other technologies as needed. Additionally, we facilitate application deployment and monitoring using tools like GitHub Actions, Terraform, and New Relic.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-code.
- Implement deployment pipelines that can be used to deploy to a variety of different targets. i.e. Test, Staging, Production
- Understand the Definition of Done used by the product development teams and build automation / integrations that help the teams conform to these.
- Build tooling that helps us automate and comply with security requirements / certifications
- Follow industry best practice and Ivanti guidelines to standardize implementation
- Identify bottlenecks in our processes and work with your peers to improve these
- Play a leading role in discussions / code review so the team “levels up” together.
To Be Successful in The Role, You Will Have
- 3+ years writing code in your IDE as part of a team
- A fundamental understanding of DevOps practices such as CI/CD and DORA metrics
- Code authoring and writing reusable, maintainable code under version control
- Hands-on experience with CI Servers / Runners. In MDM, we use Jenkins and GitHub actions as our primary runner.
- Experience of working with Containers and Ideally orchestration using Kubernetes
- IaC experience using Terraform, Bicep, Helm Charts, etc.
- Generating documentation using UML and company wiki
- Modern SDLC exposure managed by project management tooling (ADO, Jira, etc.)
Roadmap for Success
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $ 155,000 and USD $ 170,000 per year.
