THE POSITION

FanDuel is looking for an experienced Software EngineeringManager to lead one of our engineering teams within the Sportsbook domain. As part of the Sportsbook Channels org, you will be responsible for driving technical excellence, fostering a culture of innovation, and ensuring our Sportsbook product offering continues to deliver a world-class user experience for our customers. You will play a key role in delivery excellence, mentoring engineers, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver on key strategic initiatives.
The ideal candidate has expertise in mobile application delivery, a passion for leadership, and a track record of successfully managing a high-performing engineering team. You should be comfortable navigating a fast-paced environment while maintaining a strong focus on delivering high-quality, scalable solutions that align with business objectives.
THE GAME PLAN
Everyone on our team has a part to play
Lead and Mentor a Sportsbook Channels Engineering Team: Provide strong technical and people leadership to a team of mobile application developers and quality analyst(s), ensuring their growth, engagement, and success.
Set Technical Direction: Working with our Snr Staff and Staff engineers, support in the architectural vision and development of our Sportsbook application, ensuring best practices in code quality, performance, and security are followed by your team
Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with Product, Design, Backend, and other teams to align engineering efforts with business goals and user needs.
Foster Innovation: Encourage the team to explore new technologies, frameworks, and methodologies to improve app performance, reliability, and user experience.
Ensure Code and Process Excellence: Implement and uphold best practices for mobile application development, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and scalable development patterns.
Manage Roadmaps and Deliverables: Working with your product counterpart to own the engineering team roadmap, ensuring timely delivery of key initiatives while maintaining flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
Optimize Performance and Reliability: Continuously monitor app health and improve stability and efficiency.
THE STATS
What we’re looking for in our next teammate
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years in software engineering with at least 1 years of experience in an engineering leadership role.
Technical Expertise:
Experience in mobile application development and delivery.
Familiarity with App Store requirements.
Experience integrating mobile applications with backend services and APIs.
Leadership and Communication:
Proven ability to mentor and grow engineering talent.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working cross-functionally.
Project Management: Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and drive projects from inception to completion.
