Manager

Job description

Position Overview

The Strategic Communications Manager supports the communications needs of Community Solutions, its partners and the Built for Zero network within the Homelessness is Solvable Campaign by coordinating brand-aligned communications, producing donor and event materials, maintaining content assets, and amplifying evidence that homelessness is solvable through these channels.

The Strategic Communications Manager will report to the Communications Director and will be a member of the Campaign Team.

Background

Community Solutions is a “field catalyst” working to align and mobilize actors, locally and nationally who impact homelessness toward the shared goal of making homelessness rare and brief, everywhere. The organization directly supports more than 140 communities in the US in implementing accountable, community wide efforts that drive measurable reductions in homelessness. This solutions-focused approach involves rigorous collaboration of public and private efforts, comprehensive, real-time information on those experiencing homelessness and increased access to housing. By 2027, Community Solutions’ network aims to reach a tipping point where homelessness is widely perceived to be solvable and public opinion has measurably shifted to support solutions; reductions in homelessness have been achieved in a diverse and growing array of communities, and solutions focused policies increasingly drive federal, state and local responses.

The Strategic Communications Manager will advance the narrative that homelessness is solvable in alignment with the Campaign through Community Solutions’ networks, engage and drive support for solutions’ focused responses to homelessness and help to shift key public opinion to expect and support solutions-focused policies and initiatives.

Working closely with the Communications Director, the Strategic Communications Manager will help ensure consistency in messaging across Community Solutions’ platforms and materials and through partner and network relationships. The Manager will play a key role in drafting and coordinating communications for donors, funders, and strategic partners; preparing presentations and collateral for external events; and maintaining critical content assets. The Manager will also provide communications support for campaign convenings and events. Through this work, the Manager will help amplify Community Solutions’ evidence-based message that homelessness is solvable, while supporting the organization’s broader communications and campaign goals.
