TMS Consultant, MercuryGate

Remote role, anywhere in the US

The TMS Consultant is responsible for implementing the MercuryGate (Infios) TMS application on behalf of clients. As a TMS consultant, you will be combining your knowledge of transportation standards and best practices with your expertise in the MG TMS platform to craft unique and flexible solutions to client challenges. The primary goals of a TMS Consultant are (i) developing a plan to deliver complete solutions, ranging from full-scale TMS implementations to surgical Continuous Improvement (CI) updates, (ii) working with clients to enhance supply chain and logistics network performance through strategic planning, and (iii) process re-engineering, to-be process mapping and/or assist with clients’ implementations of secondary and tertiary IT applications.

·       Work with clients to understand their problems, opportunities, and risks.

·       Share industry best practices and be simultaneously flexible to clients’ unique circumstances.

·       Engage consistently across remote and in-person sessions to build relationships.

·       Produce detailed functional design documents to capture client requirements.

·       Execute each clients’ unique design within the MG TMS application.

·       Utilize established PM processes and tools to illustrate progress and manage toward assigned task due dates, communicating updates, including successes and blockers, to Teammates and Manager(s).

·       Collaborate closely with both internal and external client members to maintain progress, and relationships and ultimately ensure completion of deliverables per phase throughout the lifecycle of a project.

·       Participate and lead, when needed, project meetings with clients.

·       Maintain a high level of confidentiality when working with client information.

Experience

·       4 years’ understanding of transportation, transportation concepts, freight rates, logistics functional processes, and familiarity with standard transportation transactions (204, 990, 214, 753, 754, 856, 210, 300, 301).

·       4 years’ experience with MercuryGate (Infios) TMS.

·       Experience configuring and executing multiple carrier modes, including Parcel, LTL, TL, Ocean, Intermodal, Rail, Air, etc.

·       Experience across both functional and technical components and systems is critical for this position:

Functional

·       Carriers & Carrier Maintenance

·       Rates & Rate Maintenance

·       Optimization, Load Tendering & Exceptions

·       Track and Trace

·       Freight Bill Audit

·       KPIs and Reporting

Technical

·       APIs, including SOAP and REST;

·       Systems including ERP (SAP, Oracle, Infor), Shipping Management Software (Centiro, Logistyx, SMC3), Visibility (Inttra, FourKites, P44), Samsara, Omnitracs, Financials (SalesForce, WorkDay), YMS, BI (Cognos, PowerBI, Tableau), etc.

·       Skills including SQL, XML, JSON; electronic interfacing methods (EDI, XML, Flat File, etc.), transport methods (EDI VAN, AS2, FTP, etc.).

·       Understanding of connected fleet management technology and its integrations (familiarity with Lytx DriveCam, Geotab, TenStreet, Zonar, Eleos, ThermoKing).

·       Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and in a team environment with the ability to handle multiple priorities and complete tasks in a timely manner in a fast moving and dynamic environment.

·       Candidates will also be organized and analytical and comfortable designing and executing approved designs within the designated project schedule.

Work Location and Travel

·       Candidate must be authorized to work in the US. Can live anywhere in the US.

·       This is a home-based, full-time, exempt role.

·       This position requires the ability to travel up to 35% by airplane and/or car, with overnights.

·       Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Annual salary range: $65,000.00 - $145,000.00.

The salary range information provided reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual salary will be commensurate with skills, experience, certifications or licenses, and other relevant factors.
