Job description

About us:

PurposeMed was founded in 2019 with the mission of improving access to complex care for underserved communities. We’ve grown quickly in our first few years, and now our exceptional team serves thousands of patients each month across our multiple verticals.

PurposeMed consists of three complex care business units: Freddie, Frida, and Foria, and partners with Affirming Care Pharmacy. Freddie is focused on improving sexual health through education, prevention, and treatment with a focus on the LGBTQ2S+ community—we’re the #1 rated PrEP provider in North America, serving patients in both Canada and the USA! Frida is changing the lives of patients with easier access to adult ADHD diagnosis, and fast and affordable treatment. Foria Clinic provides trans, non-binary, and gender-diverse Canadians with gender-affirming healthcare. Affirming Care Pharmacy is a specialty pharmacy with locations in Calgary, Alberta, and Mississauga, Ontario. This partnership provides our patients with an end-to-end healthcare experience, from treatment, to prescription delivery, to continuous affirming care.

We’re proud to be ranked #2 on Deloitte’s 2024 list of Canada’s 50 fastest-growing tech companies and recognized as one of Canada’s Most Admired Corporate Cultures for two consecutive years. Driven by a strong mission, our team is passionate about making healthcare accessible to those who need it most—and we make sure to have fun along the way!

Who we hope to find:

We’re looking for a passionate and people-first Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our growing team at PurposeMed! As a Talent Acquisition Specialist, you’ll play a key role in helping us find and hire exceptional talent across clinical, technical, and operational functions. You’ll partner closely with internal stakeholders, including hiring managers, the People team, and company leadership, to ensure a thoughtful, inclusive, and effective hiring process from start to finish. This is an opportunity to help shape the future of healthcare in North America by bringing in new team members who are deeply aligned with our mission.

In this role, you’ll make an impact by:

  • Helping us find and win top talent:
    • Leading full-cycle recruitment for diverse roles—from writing compelling job postings to closing candidates with thoughtful, well-negotiated offers
    • Proactively sourcing exceptional candidates through creative outreach, referrals, and platforms like LinkedIn
    • Ensuring every candidate receives an 1110 experience throughout the journey
  • Empowering and elevating our hiring teams:
    • Building trusted partnerships with hiring managers by deeply understanding their teams’ needs and advising on strategic hiring approaches
    • Coaching and training our interviewers on best practices (from conducting inclusive interviews to grading assignments and selling the role)
    • Fostering consistency and confidence across the hiring process by upskilling teams and improving interviewer calibration
  • Championing inclusive, bias-minimizing hiring:
    • Maintaining equitable hiring practices by identifying and reducing bias at every stage of the recruitment funnel
    • Actively supporting diverse sourcing strategies and inclusive language in job postings and outreach
    • Embedding fairness and structure into interviews and evaluations to support objective, values-aligned decision-making
  • Building an employer brand that we’re proud of:
    • Forging connections with mission-aligned talent and partners by engaging in industry events, online communities, and professional networks
    • Highlighting the impact of our work through content, conversations, and campaigns that resonate with mission-driven candidates
    • Collaborating with teammates across the company to uncover and amplify the voices that make our team special
  • Improving, iterating, and innovating:
    • Keeping our hiring engine running smoothly by maintaining and optimizing our ATS (Greenhouse) and other recruitment tools
    • Contributing to continuous improvement efforts that make our hiring more efficient, effective, and aligned with our mission
    • Supporting and co-leading team initiatives and projects that elevate how we attract, evaluate, and hire talent

We need someone who has:

  • 2+ years of full-cycle recruitment experience, ideally in a high-growth, remote-first environment
  • A proven track record hiring across functions—whether it’s clinical, technical, or operations folks, you know how to tailor your approach
  • Strong sourcing skills and a knack for building diverse pipelines through creative, targeted outreach
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities, with a talent for making candidates and hiring managers feel supported
  • A passion for people—you care deeply about finding the right fit and ensuring every candidate feels valued and aligned with our mission
  • Comfort working independently and collaboratively as part of a distributed team across North American time zones
  • Familiarity with Greenhouse or similar ATS, and a willingness to learn new tools

It would also be great if you have:

  • Experience working in a healthcare (preferably healthtech) environment

Compensation:

  • $60,000 - $70,000 CAD a year
  • Earn stock options through our Equity Incentive Plan—connect your efforts to PurposeMed’s growth as we work together to improve the lives of our patients across North America.
  • The compensation listed above refers to a yearly base salary that may vary depending on a candidate’s relevant qualifications, knowledge, competencies and work experience, and other factors including market conditions. Base pay is just one aspect of our total rewards at PurposeMed—see our other exciting benefits below!
