Dev Technology Group is recruiting for a functional Test Engineer to support one of our software delivery projects with a government client. This is a mission-driven program with a variety of complex testing needs. If you aren’t strong in SQL today, you soon will be! This position will allow you to grow with new technical challenges while learning a new business area.

What You’ll Be Doing: Learning our clients systems, understanding the business scope, writing test cases, executing and documenting them. Working with a collaborative team that focuses on getting high quality software deployed. Most of our testing is data and process intensive, so it is challenging and rewarding.

Required Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree and at least 2 years of experience as a manual tester, automated tester or other IT related role
  • Experience with creating test plans based on gathered requirements and documenting test results
  • Experience working with data-focused testing, such as creating sets of data, pulling and reviewing output
  • Working knowledge of issue/bug tracking tools (such as Jira)
  • Experience with writing SQL to query data from databases
  • Demonstrates understanding of relational databases
  • Ability to collaborate with team members to ensure client needs and expectations are met or exceeded
  • Aptitude for picking up technology quickly along with a desire to learn and progress
  • Interest in learning what the system does and why
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal

Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • Experience with Agile methodologies
  • Experience working with a government client
