Job description
We’re looking for a skilled and proactive Shopify Web Developer & Site Maintenance Manager to support a luxury e-commerce brand in maintaining and optimizing their Shopify-based website. This role is perfect for a technically strong, detail-oriented individual who can manage ongoing site maintenance, identify and resolve issues efficiently, and contribute to the brand’s digital presence with consistent, high-quality improvements. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in Shopify development, experience with theme management and app integrations, and a problem-solving mindset. You’ll act as the go-to person for all web-related communication and be responsible for managing ongoing maintenance tasks, small enhancements, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Shopify theme backups and recommend new themes when necessary for major design overhauls.
- Conduct monthly app compatibility reviews to ensure performance and flag potential issues.
- Perform monthly site spot checks to identify broken links or functionality issues.
- Implement website improvements, including content updates, CTA adjustments, and UX enhancements.
- Handle ad hoc bug fixes and technical troubleshooting as needed.
- Oversee and manage the development task queue, acting as the main point of contact for web-related communication.
- Provide clear, structured monthly reports detailing tasks completed and hours used.
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience working with Shopify development and website maintenance.
- Solid understanding of Shopify’s architecture, theme customization, and third-party app integrations.
- Experience managing content updates, site QA, and debugging.
- Strong organizational and project management skills; able to track multiple tasks and communicate clearly with stakeholders.
- Familiarity with performance optimization, UX improvements, and cross-browser compatibility.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with e-commerce or luxury lifestyle brands.
- Knowledge of analytics and reporting tools to support performance-based decisions.
- Strong written communication skills for internal updates and reporting.
- Experience using tools like Trello, Asana, or similar for task and project tracking.
