4D Molecular Therapeutics

4D Molecular Therapeutics (4DMT), founded in 2013, is a clinical-stage biopharma company that develops and sells gene therapeutic products for serious medical conditions. We use our Therapeutic Vector Evolution platform to create custom gene delivery vehicles (vectors). These vectors deliver therapeutic payloads to specific tissues through optimal administration routes, helping us develop treatments for various diseases.

Our lead product candidate, 4D-150, is designed for blinding retinal vascular diseases. It aims to provide multi-year sustained delivery of anti-VEGF (aflibercept and anti-VEGF-C) with a single, intravitreal injection, to reduce the treatment burden compared to current bolus injections. 4D-150 is currently in Phase 3 development for wet age-related macular degeneration and is also being developed for diabetic macular edema.

Our second product candidate, 4D-710, is a genetic medicine that has successfully delivered and expressed the CFTR transgene in the lungs of people with cystic fibrosis following aerosol delivery. We focus on gene therapy using adeno-associated viruses, particularly for rare diseases and conditions affecting the retina and ophthalmology. Our work involves clinical trials and lab science.
