About Access Vascular, Inc.
We founded Access Vascular in 2015 to develop and manufacture intravenous catheters using a new hydrophilic biomaterial. This material works by closely interacting with the body’s natural chemistry, which helps reduce common complications of intravenous therapy like infection, thrombosis, and phlebitis.
Our products, HydroPICC® (a peripherally inserted central catheter) and HydroMID® (a peripherally inserted midline catheter), use MIMIX® technology. These devices are designed to minimize the body’s typical reaction to a foreign object, thereby reducing related complications.
HydroPICC® received FDA clearance in 2018 for reducing thrombosis accumulation. In 2021, HydroMID® received its second FDA clearance after a retrospective assessment showed fewer complications compared to standard polyurethane catheters.
We are a privately held company based in Billerica, MA, operating a 40,000 square foot facility that includes laboratory and manufacturing spaces. Our products are commercially available in the United States.
