Developing and manufacturing medical technology for vascular diseases like stroke and pulmonary embolism.

About Imperative Care

We are a Silicon Valley-based medical technology company, founded in 2015, that researches, develops, and manufactures products for vascular diseases like stroke and pulmonary embolism. Our goal is to improve treatment and care for patients.

Our product lineup includes the Zoom Stroke System for quickly removing clots in ischemic stroke patients. For venous thromboembolism, we offer the Symphony® Thrombectomy System, and for acute limb ischemia (ALI), the Prodigy® Thrombectomy System. We are also developing the Telos robotic platform, which is not yet approved or available for sale.

We focus on rapid innovation, physician partnerships, and clinical data, with studies like the Imperative Trial and SYMPHONY-PE Study supporting our work. Fred Khosravi and L. Nelson (Nick) Hopkins, M.D. F.A.C.S., co-founded us, initially concentrating on stroke before expanding to other vascular diseases. The need for our work is clear: in the U.S., someone has a stroke every 40 seconds, and one person dies from a blood clot every 6 minutes.

Mission & Values

Our mission is to improve patient care by quickly developing life-changing technologies and making them widely available. We aim to enhance patient care across our entire product range, not just with individual technologies.

Our corporate values, known as CARE, guide us:

  • Community: We collaborate with a shared passion to improve patient care.
  • Authenticity: We foster a culture of trust, diversity, openness, and respect.
  • Responsibility: We are accountable to patients and to each other.
  • Excellence: We aim for the highest standards, dedicated to innovation and quality.

These values drive our culture of rapid innovation, strong physician partnerships, and focus on robust clinical data.

Team & Culture

We have between 201 and 500 employees. Our culture attracts energetic, talented individuals who are passionate about improving patients’ lives. We celebrate diverse perspectives and encourage collaboration at all levels. We encourage employees to grow, develop new solutions, and prioritize innovation and learning. We foster a strong sense of community where everyone feels heard, respected, and appreciated. We also enjoy recreational activities like friendly competitions and potlucks. While many roles are hybrid and based in Campbell, CA, some full-time positions are fully remote.
