AeroFarms

We founded AeroFarms in 2004 as an indoor vertical farming company specializing in nutrient-dense microgreens. Our FlavorSpectrum™ microgreens come in various tasting notes, with packaging colors indicating flavor profiles—cool blue for sweet/mellow and intense red for bold/zesty.

We use a proprietary agriculture platform that combines indoor vertical farming, artificial intelligence, and plant biology to ensure flavor, quality, nutrition, traceability, and food safety. Our fully controlled environments have custom LED lighting, automated nutrient delivery, and optimized HVAC systems. We use aeroponic technology, misting plant roots with targeted nutrients, water, and oxygen in a closed-loop system. Our plant scientists monitor harvest data and use predictive analytics and machine vision to optimize our growing system.

Our methods prioritize resource efficiency: we use up to 90% less water for leafy microgreens, 99% less land, and zero pesticides compared to traditional field farming. This allows us to cultivate year-round, independent of external climate. We support local food production and nationwide distribution through farms located near major cities and distribution routes.

We are a Certified B Corporation, food safety certified under Good Agricultural Practices, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Safe Quality Food (SQF). We are also a founding member of the CEA Alliance. We have received over 75 awards. Our specialties include agriculture, aeroponics, hydroponics, leafy greens, clean technology, sustainable farming, vertical farming, and the circular economy. We have 51-200 employees.
