We were founded in 2015 to provide remote video interpreting services. Initially, “AI” stood for Artificial Intelligence and “RA” for Remote Assistance, but we now say “AI” means Access to Information, highlighting the essential role of our human interpreters. We help people overcome barriers and improve accessibility. Our services come through two main apps:

The Aira Explorer App connects people who are blind or low-vision with professional visual interpreters. They verbally describe visual information, helping with things like navigating, shopping, reading, and understanding their surroundings. The app also has an “Access AI” feature for instant image descriptions, which a human interpreter can verify. Users can get Aira Explorer through personal subscriptions, promotional deals, or for free at thousands of Access Partner locations worldwide.

The Aira ASL App offers on-demand American Sign Language (ASL) interpreting via live video for the Deaf and hard-of-hearing, with an option for real-time captioning. This service is available for free at some Access Partner locations across North America.

We partner with organizations like Walmart, Google, Target, Starbucks, Amazon, Chase Bank, and the State of Colorado to offer our services to their employees, students, or customers. We focus on wearable technology, software, internet services, and assistive technology. We have 11-50 employees.
