Job Title: AS400 Synon Developer
Location: Onsite/Hybrid — Greater Dallas, TX or Greater Chicago, IL
Experience Required: 5+ years
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced AS400 Synon Developer to support, maintain, and enhance applications running on the IBM i (AS/400) platform. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on Synon (CA 2E) development skills and experience working with legacy business systems in a hybrid onsite environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and enhance applications using Synon (CA 2E) on the AS400/IBM i platform
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Perform coding, unit testing, debugging, and documentation
- Support existing applications, troubleshoot issues, and provide production support
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business analysts, QA, and operations
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to development standards
- Assist with modernization or migration initiatives, when applicable
Required Skills & Experience:
- 5+ years of experience with AS400/IBM i development
- Strong hands-on experience with Synon (CA 2E)
- Familiarity with RPG, CL, DB2/400, and related IBM i technologies
- Ability to analyze and resolve complex system issues
- Experience working with legacy enterprise applications
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
