We founded AKASA in 2019 to provide generative AI solutions for the healthcare revenue cycle. Our solutions run on the AKASA Platform, which combines our proprietary generative AI with deep revenue cycle knowledge. We train this technology on a health system’s own clinical and financial data to understand its specific needs.

Our goal is to eliminate financial complexity in healthcare for hospitals, health systems, and their patients. Our solutions help reduce denials, improve margins, increase revenue, lower cost-to-collect, empower staff, and boost patient satisfaction.

Our products include the Prebill Optimization Suite, which combines coding and Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) to fix documentation gaps and ensure accuracy. The Coding Optimizer finds missed coding opportunities and quality risks, and the CDI Optimizer helps uncover documentation gaps for accurate patient records. We also offer the AI Advisor, a research assistant for revenue cycle teams, and automated tools like Auth Status and Claim Status that automatically check authorization and claim information.

We’ve raised over $200 million from investors like Andreessen Horowitz, BOND, and Costanoa Ventures. Our clients include over 650 hospitals and 6,500 outpatient facilities across all 50 states. Our generative AI is trained on millions of clinical documents. Reported results include a 13% decrease in A/R days, over 300 staff hours saved per month, a $30 million gross yield increase, and an 86% efficiency improvement.
