About the Role
Strategic finance analysts help ensure that AllTrails makes sound financial decisions. Your work—whether it’s building financial models, tracking performance metrics, or preparing reports—directly supports leaders in making strategic company decisions. You’ll contribute across multiple projects at a time, staying focused on the details while learning to connect your analysis to bigger-picture business challenges.
You will support financial modeling and forecasting efforts, partner with cross-functional teams such as Marketing, Product, and Engineering on analytical projects, and contribute to annual and long-term planning processes. This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented analyst looking to grow their strategic finance skill set in a high-impact, collaborative environment.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for leadership, the board, and investors—from raw data pulls to polished presentations
Contributing to ad-hoc strategic analyses cross-functionally (e.g., paid acquisition performance, product launch business cases, international market analysis, etc.)
Maintaining detailed financial models to support budgeting and planning, and performing budget variance analysis at a monthly cadence
Building and maintaining performance reporting and KPI dashboards for various departments using SQL and Looker
Supporting inbound diligence requests and other ad hoc strategic projects as needed
Requirements:
Experience
2–4 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, management consulting, or strategic finance/FP&A, preferably with a focus on software and internet businesses
Exposure to annual and long-range forecasting, reporting on forecast vs. actual variance, and similar FP&A responsibilities
Proven track record of achieving goals and delivering results in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
Technical & Analytical Skills
Advanced proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets
Strong working knowledge of SQL and business intelligence tools
Strong attention to detail and analytical rigor
Communication & Presentation
Solid presentation skills, with the ability to communicate quantitative and qualitative insights clearly and visually
Strong communication skills, including the ability to break down complex concepts and proactively share knowledge with teammates and stakeholders
Mindset & Values
Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Curious, experimental mindset—especially with emerging AI tools and technologies
Humility, empathy, and open-mindedness—no egos
Bonus:
Bottoms-up, cohorted subscription revenue financial modeling experience
Experience performing financial analysis at a B2C subscription company
Exposure to board-level or executive audiences
Perks & Benefits:
Competitive and equitable compensation, including ownership through equity and performance-based bonuses.
Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage to support your physical and mental well-being.
Unlimited PTO in addition to company holidays.
Dedicated time once a month to test and improve our product through company-wide no-meeting days.
Fully paid parental leave to birthing and non-birthing parents.
401k Match & access to financial wellness resources through Origin.
Remote work stipend to help you design a comfortable and productive home office.
Annual learning stipend to invest in your long-term professional growth and skills.
Exclusive discounts on our subscriptions and merchandise for you and your friends & family.
An authentic investment in you as a human being and a professional—we value your identity as much as your output.
$110,000 - $140,000 a year
