Overview
We’re looking for an experienced Jira Setup Scrum Master Contractor with a strong Project Management background and deep Jira expertise to lead and coordinate the end-to-end Jira setup for our teams. This role is hands-on and execution-driven, focused on designing, configuring, and rolling out Jira in a way that supports delivery visibility, efficiency, and scalability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end Jira setup (projects, workflows, issue types, boards, permissions, external app configurations, automations)
- Configure Jira for Agile / Scrum / Kanban / hybrid delivery models
- Expert-level Jira proficiency, including workflows, boards, reporting, and coaching teams post-migration
- Hands-on experience with automation-related specifically with RPA and Agentic AI
- Set up epics, backlogs, sprints, releases, dashboards, and reports
- Set up a release process through Jira automations
- Set up and configure Github/Slack integrations per spaces
- Set up documentation spaces for Jira information to show up in Confluence for project statuses, sprints, and releases
- Set up golden sample project / confluence that can be used to configure/base all new projects from
- Define and implement workflow standards, naming conventions, and best practices
- Gather requirements from PMs, delivery teams, and leadership
- Translate delivery and reporting needs into effective Jira configurations
- Coordinate rollout timelines, dependencies, and stakeholder communication
- Provide documentation, walkthroughs, and basic training as needed
- Set up Jira/Confluence to handle internal and external teams and access permissions that are easy to manage
- Ensure a clean handover post-implementation
- Deep understanding of Agile principles, Scrum framework, and iterative delivery
- Ensure sprint-based meetings are effectively facilitated, the outcomes are achieved, and their cadence is maintained.
- Understands fibonacci estimation
Required Experience
- Strong Project Management experience in digital, tech, or agency environments
- Extensive hands-on Jira setup and administration experience
- Proven experience leading Jira implementations or restructures
- Solid understanding of Agile delivery frameworks
- Comfortable working independently and driving execution
- Strong coaching, facilitation, conflict-resolution, and communication skills
- Strong knowledge of development heavy usage of Jira/Confluence
Nice to Have
- Jira Administrator certification
- Experience with Confluence and Jira integrations
- Prior consulting or contractor experience
- Experience setting up Jira for multiple teams or portfolios
