We are an in-office company, and our expectation is that employees primarily work from their Applied Intuition office 5 days a week. However, we also recognize the importance of flexibility and trust our employees to manage their schedules responsibly. This may include occasional remote work, starting the day with morning meetings from home before heading to the office, or leaving earlier when needed to accommodate family commitments.
About the role
We are looking for a bright engineer to help our customers solve complex technical problems across Applied Intuition’s Vehicle OS portfolio. In this role you will work closely with vehicle software and tooling teams at OEMs and Tier 1s to ensure Applied’s solutions deliver maximum impact in advancing customers’ Software-Defined-Vehicle (SDV) strategies and in-cabin user experiences.
Vehicle OS is Applied Intuition’s software platform for SDV. It enables OEMs to modernize their E/E architecture through three interconnected areas:
- Middleware & architecture Service-oriented, middleware-driven software stacks built on AUTOSAR Adaptive Platform, SOME/IP, and DDS. Helps OEMs migrate from distributed ECU architectures to zonal, centralized compute.
- Developer toolchain A code-first toolchain that replaces GUI-bound configuration workflows. Engineers model vehicle behavior in Python, manage changes through pull requests, and validate in virtual ECU environments analogous to what cloud virtual engineering workbenches (e.g., AWS VEW) brought to cloud-native development, but purpose-built for automotive E/E systems.
- IVI & in-vehicle infotainment Android Automotive OS (AAOS) based platform, HMI/cluster software, and intelligent in-cabin experiences including Cabin Intelligence (DMS, OMS, voice, occupant interaction).
This role sits at the intersection of all three areas, and the balance will depend on the customer mix.
At Applied Intuition, you will:
- Act as the technical bridge between automotive customers and Applied Intuition’s engineering and product teams
- Support OEMs in adopting Vehicle OS: middleware stack, developer SDK, and IVI/infotainment integration
- Lead technical discussions, architecture reviews, demos, and early-stage deployments with OEM and Tier 1 engineering teams
- Help customers adopt Applied’s code-first developer toolchain, onboarding engineering teams onto the SDK, setting up virtual ECU environments, and integrating with customers’ existing CI/CD pipelines
- Guide OEMs through the design and implementation of service-oriented vehicle architectures and support system integration across ECUs, domain controllers and high-performance compute
- Work with customers’ IVI and infotainment teams on AAOS integration, Linux-based IVI stack deployment, HMI/cluster software, and Cabin Intelligence features (driver monitoring, occupant monitoring, voice/AI interaction)
- Collaborate with customers and internal product teams to triage and resolve technical issues
- Manage project milestones and communicate progress across multiple customer and internal stakeholders
We’re looking for someone who has:
3+ years of experience working with automotive OEMs or suppliers, ideally in SDV, E/E architecture, developer tooling, or in-vehicle infotainment/IVI
Experience with AUTOSAR (Classic or Adaptive) and automotive developer tooling
Familiarity with vehicle communication protocols: SOME/IP, DDS, CAN, LIN, or automotive Ethernet
Experience with at least one of the following:
Vehicle software developer toolchain: SDK-based development, virtual ECUs, SIL environments, or CI/CD pipelines for automotive software
IVI / infotainment platforms: Android Automotive OS (AAOS), Linux-based IVI, HMI/cluster software, or display middleware
Execution-driven mindset with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple customer engagements in parallel
Experience working directly with customers on complex problems at the intersection of software and vehicle systems
Degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or related field
Basic / intermediate programming experience in C/C++, Python, or similar
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; German and/or additional European language is a significant plus
Nice to have:
- Hands-on experience with Applied Intuition’s Vehicle OS or a comparable SDV platform
- Knowledge of zonal E/E architectures, HPC platforms, or software-defined networking in vehicles
- Experience with OTA systems and vehicle software lifecycle management
- Familiarity with ISO 26262 functional safety or SOTIF in the context of IVI or ADAS systems
- Experience with Cabin Intelligence technologies: driver monitoring (DMS), occupant monitoring (OMS), or in-cabin perception and AI
- Exposure to perception systems or AI/ML pipelines applied to in-vehicle experiences
- Experience with simulation environments or digital twin platforms to validate vehicle software
- Project management experience in cross-functional, customer-facing programs
Compensation at Applied Intuition for eligible roles includes base salary, equity, and benefits. Base salary is a single component of the total compensation package, which may also include equity in the form of options and/or restricted stock units, learning and wellness stipends, and paid time off. Note that benefits are subject to change and may vary based on jurisdiction of employment.

The actual base salary offered to a successful candidate will additionally be influenced by a variety of factors including experience, credentials & certifications, educational attainment, skill level requirements, interview performance, and the level and scope of the position.
Don’t meet every single requirement? If you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with every qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.
