Job Summary
Aretum is seeking a motivated and skilled React Software Developer. As a React Software Developer, you will act as a key member of the development team providing expertise on front-end application development meeting responsive design needs and accessibility standards.
Due to the nature of our work as a federal consulting organization, employees may be expected to handle Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and must adhere to applicable safeguarding and compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
Act as a key member of our collaborative team supporting a federal client
Work cross-functionally in an Agile environment
Develop an application using React in a Keycloak based identity and access management (IAM) project
Front-end development to include use of React, HTML, CSS, and APIs
Develop responsive designs that meet accessibility compliance requirements
Use accessibility testing tools to include screen readers
Utilize knowledge of CI/CD environments to include code repository technologies
Work with technical staff to develop and enhance web applications
Software documentation development
Utilize expertise in debugging and compatibility
Provide problem-solving skills and a detail-oriented mindset
2+ years of professional software development experience using React
Experience with React version 18+
Bachelor’s Degree (4 years of additional experience in lieu of degree is acceptable)
Front-end development skills including HTML, CSS, RESTful APIs, and responsive design
Strong experience with Section 508 and WCAG 2.2 accessibility requirements
Experience using accessibility testing tools such as JAWS screen reader
A minimum of 2 years of experience working with Agile or SCRUM methodologies
Familiarity with CI/CD environments with at least 1 year of working experience
Experience with code repository technologies such as Git
Expertise in debugging and cross-browser compatibility
Ability to work with technical staff to understand and develop new web applications, resolve customer complaints with web applications, and respond to suggestions for software modifications or enhancements
Ability to participate in the development of software documentation such as version description document and user manuals
Strong problem-solving skills and a detail-oriented mindset
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing with Keycloak (highly preferred) or JAVA based open-source software
- Knowledge of UI/UX design principles
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting
- Experience or exposure with automation tools such as Jira, Jenkins, Ant, Maven
- Experience with container technologies like Docker
- Exposure to AWS or other Cloud Technologies
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience supporting the federal government
Travel Requirements
This is a remote position; however, occasional travel may be required based on project needs, client meetings, team collaboration events, or training sessions. Travel is expected to be less than 10% and will be communicated in advance whenever possible.
