AST SpaceMobile is building the first and only global cellular broadband network in space to operate directly with standard, unmodified mobile devices based on our extensive IP and patent portfolio and designed for both commercial and government applications. Our engineers and space scientists are on a mission to eliminate the connectivity gaps faced by today’s five billion mobile subscribers and finally bring broadband to the billions who remain unconnected.
Position Overview
We are seeking a Legal Intern to support our Regulatory Affairs team for the 2026 Summer Internship Program. In this role, you will work closely with in‑house counsel, outside counsel, and engineering teams on licensing, compliance, policy, and other regulatory matters involving the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and additional regulatory bodies.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft FCC license applications, comments, replies, petitions in application and rulemaking proceedings, and written materials for FCC meetings.
- Summarize, analyze, and monitor regulatory filings and decisions.
- Conduct legal research and perform cite‑
- Assist with regulatory compliance activities and due‑diligence reviews.
Qualifications
Education
Current JD candidate (rising 2L or 3L) at an accredited law school.
Experience
Any relevant work experience or demonstrated interest/coursework in space, communications, or administrative law and policy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated interest or coursework in space, communications, or administrative law and policy.
- Law review or journal experience.
Soft Skills
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent writing, communication, research, and analytical abilities.
- Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all documentation and regulatory submissions.
Technology Stack
- Legal research platforms (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis).
- Document management tools (e.g., SharePoint, iManage).
- Microsoft Office Suite
Physical Requirements
Based in the Washington, DC area to attend in‑person meetings with the FCC and other federal agencies (preferred).
