Job Description
Your Team
As a Senior Java Developer on our Service Request Management (SRM) Team, you’ll steer the creation and refinement of our customer ticketing solution based on Jira. Your efforts will be at the heart of Avaloq’s operational excellence, impacting how we manage our service requests and how we’re perceived by those we serve. Join a team built on a foundation of collaboration and continuous advancement, and play a pivotal role in shaping a system critical to our collective success.
Your key tasks
- Design and implement new Jira plugins using the Atlassian SDK to boost SRM functionality. Ensure existing plugins remain compatible with new Jira releases through maintenance and upgrades. Further, develop and enhance ScriptRunner-based plugins to evolve the service request management system.
- Develop high-quality Java code for both new features and enhancements, ensuring the SRM system is robust and user-centric. Debug complex software issues and optimize application performance through targeted code improvements and systematic refactoring.
- Collaborate with product owners to understand and prioritize requirements. Ensure cohesive partnership with configuration specialists and fellow software engineers to meet team standards.
Qualifications
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on Java development using frameworks like Spring or OSGi
- Solid experience in building web UIs with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- You know your way around SQL and can design and query databases skillfully
- Confident working in Linux, dealing with config files, logs, and cron jobs
- Experience building or extending Jira plugins using the Atlassian SDK and ScriptRunner
- You have an agile mindset and think in systems, work autonomously, and bring structure to complex problems without losing sight of the bigger picture
It would be a real bonus if you have
- You know your way around Groovy scripting, especially for Jira automation
- You have experience with Jira administration and configuration
- You’re excited about shaping the future of finance through clean code and smart solutions
