About Aztec
We develop a decentralized, privacy-preserving Layer 2 solution for Ethereum. It enables private smart contracts and programmable end-to-end privacy. Our network helps integrate real-world assets and participants by offering different privacy levels. This includes Programmable Privacy, which lets developers define privacy at the user, data, metadata, transaction, and code levels using Noir, a Rust-like language.
We also use Client-Side Proofs. These proofs are generated on a user’s machine to keep sensitive data off the network. Composable Privacy provides end-to-end privacy across interconnected blockchain networks. Our protocol features Day-1 Decentralization, with decentralized sequencing, proving, and governance built into its core.
We held an on-chain $AZTEC token sale in late 2025. The Token Generation Event (TGE) is planned for early 2026, pending a governance vote by token holders. If approved, this would allow token transfers and trading.
