Electronics Engineering Intern

Job Description

Are you interested in diving into the dynamic world of hardware engineering at Bolt? Look no further! We’re a team of engineers who excel at solving unique product challenges, such as machine vision in scooters, accurate vehicle positioning in complex environments, engineering the smoothest riding experience on the market and much more.

Please note: we’re not able to offer visa sponsorship or relocation support for this role, so make sure you’re all set to be in Estonia if you apply!

About us

Bolt is the global shared mobility platform that provides ride-hailing, scooter and e-bike sharing, food and grocery delivery, and car rental services in over 600 cities across 50 countries. Bolt’s services connect to existing modes of transport, making it easier for people to move around. In doing so, Bolt aims to reduce the use of private cars and help make cities for people, not cars.

About the role

The Electronics Engineering Intern supports the Electronics development team in technical tasks related to Bolt’s micromobility fleet, including scooters and e-bikes. The responsibilities for this position include assisting with failure diagnostics, electronics design and testing, test bench design and commissioning, and process documentation. The role involves collaborating with seniors of electronics, mechanics and firmware engineering, and operations teams to support ongoing technical designs and investigations. This position provides practical experience in electronics design and testing, and manufacturing processes.

You’ll receive mentorship from seasoned professionals who are passionate about nurturing talent and fostering growth throughout your internship. You’ll have the chance to sharpen your technical skills, expand your knowledge base, and build a strong foundation for your future career in tech.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Assist in creating more capacity for design validation testing through test bench design and assembly
  • Design and validate more robust solutions for electronics manufacturing testers
  • Take part in discussions concerning daily issues and challenges in electronics development and how to solve them
  • Join other engineers in paying visits to our Electronics Manufacturing Services’ site
  • Support engineers in finding and solving root causes to issues in our electrical systems
  • Own design, troubleshooting, and documentation tasks

Experience is great, but what we really look for is drive, intelligence, and integrity. So even if you don’t tick every box, please consider applying!

About you:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Ideally in your 2nd year, looking to gain hands-on industry experience early in your studies.
  • Passionate about micromobility, hardware, and solving real-world technical challenges.
  • Eager to learn and comfortable with stepping into a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive mindset with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Why you’ll love it here:

  • Work on real-life projects and gain hands-on experience.
  • Play a direct role in shaping the future of mobility.
  • Work in fast-moving autonomous teams with some of the smartest people in the world.
  • Accelerate your professional growth.
  • Receive a competitive entry-level salary.

*Some perks may differ depending on your location and role.
