The Marketing Technology (MarTech) team builds and operates the technical backbone behind Bolt’s global marketing engine. We design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems and tools that power data-driven marketing workflows, automation, and analytics across Bolt’s ecosystem.
We work closely with Marketing, Product, and Data teams to build reliable, scalable, and developer-friendly systems that support Bolt’s growth today and into the future.

As a Software Engineering Manager for the MarTech team, you will lead a group of experienced full-stack engineers building high-scale marketing technology systems. Your role sits at the intersection of people leadership, technical direction, and delivery.
You will be responsible for growing and supporting engineers, ensuring the team delivers impactful, reliable solutions, and aligning technical execution with marketing and product goals. While this is not a hands-on coding role, you are expected to be technically strong, able to guide architectural decisions, and comfortable discussing trade-offs in complex backend systems.
You will partner closely with Product, Marketing stakeholders, and other Engineering teams to shape roadmaps, manage scope, and execute initiatives incrementally and sustainably.
Leading, mentoring, and growing a team of senior software engineers, fostering ownership, collaboration, and a strong engineering culture. Setting clear expectations around performance and growth, and supporting engineers through feedback, coaching, and career development. Providing technical and architectural guidance for large-scale backend systems built primarily in Node.js and TypeScript. Ensuring systems are designed for scale, reliability, and operational excellence, supporting billions of events and high-throughput workloads. Collaborating closely with Marketing, Product, SRE, and other Engineering teams to align on priorities, ownership, and execution. Continuously improving team processes, rituals, and engineering practices while promoting knowledge sharing across the organization.
You have excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal. You’re comfortable with modern programming languages such as TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, Scala, or Java. You have successfully built or managed internal platforms, libraries, frameworks, tooling, or large-scale projects requiring cross-team alignment. You have 5+ years of hands-on software development experience and a deep understanding of writing readable, testable, maintainable, and performant code. You have a proven ability to get things done, set a clear technical vision, establish effective engineering processes, and make data-driven decisions.
