We are currently seeking a Senior Associate to join our Estate & Trust team! The Senior Associate is responsible for assisting our clients with their internal accounting and estate, gift, and trust needs by performing a variety of advanced accounting and tax assignments. Tasks are conducted under limited direct supervision but under the review of Supervisor, Manager, or Partner. This position may also involve working cross-departmentally with other Boulay Departments to effectively accomplish projects and tasks.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Prepare complex trust and estate income, gift, and estate tax returns
- Perform trust accounting
- Review basic trust and estate income tax returns
- Assist with drafting estate plans
- Assist with probate and estate administration
- Assist with the filing of probate documents with the court
- Assist with light real-estate administration
- Assist with initial preparation of client files
- Demonstrate proficiency with software, time management, and communication, while maintaining professionalism and adhering to Firm standards and ethical guidelines
- Complete other duties, tasks, or special projects as assigned
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2+ years of applicable experience
- Strong computer skills and proficiency in various accounting and other software, including Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of Internal Revenue Code, tax law, and tax processes
- Demonstrates adaptability, strong attention to detail, and the ability to quickly learn new processes, apply accounting concepts, and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Excels in independent work and collaboration, with strong interpersonal skills, sound judgment, and the ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal English while managing multiple priorities.
Preferred:
- Previous estate and trust experience
- Previous tax preparation experience
- CPA licensure or actively working towards it
- Familiarity with accounting software programs: ProSystemsFx Tax, CaseWare, XCM, Maconomy, Quickbooks, and T-Value
- Familiarity with estate and trust software programs: EstateVal and Estate Planning Tools

The annual salary range for this position is: $72,000 - $102,000. This salary range reflects the anticipated responsibilities and qualifications of a successful candidate for this role. Final compensation may vary depending upon an individual’s experience, knowledge, and skills. Individuals may be eligible for additional compensation in the form of incentives, commissions, profit sharing, and more, depending on the role.
