Position Summary
The Technical Learning Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring that new hires and existing employees gain the knowledge, skills, and confidence to effectively use Centre’s core tools, systems, and technical processes. This role is responsible for facilitating engaging technical training, enhancing onboarding programs, tracking training effectiveness, and continuously optimizing the learning experience. This position will also design and launch new training modules and programs that elevate technical and systems proficiency across the organization.
Core Tools & Systems: ConnectWise, Microsoft 365, IT Glue, HiBob and other internal systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Training Delivery & Facilitation
Lead technical onboarding sessions for new hires in the Managed Services department, emphasizing real-world workflows and productivity.
Facilitate both in-person and virtual training for Managed Services, adapting style and content to role-specific needs (e.g., technical support, operations, G&A).
Training Content Management
Maintain and update training materials, including presentations, facilitator guides, job aids, quick reference guides, and short-form videos.
Assist in launching new training programs based on identified business needs and skill gaps.
Ensure all content aligns with organizational strategies, learning principles, accessibility standards, and role-specific competencies.
Translate complex technical workflows into clear, structured learning materials that support diverse learning styles and promote real-world application.
Program Management & Reporting
Track and report training completion rates, engagement metrics, and time-to-productivity for new hires in Managed Services.
Assist with managing dashboards and scorecards to provide insights and recommendations to the Learning and Development team.
Coordinate training schedules, enrollment, and communication in the Managed Services department.
Assessment & Continuous Improvement
Coordinate and administer knowledge checks, practical assessments, and scenario-based exercises.
Analyze learner feedback and performance data; propose enhancements to content, delivery, and program structure.
Partner with system owners to identify common user pain points and work with the Learning and Development team to recommend process or tool improvements.
Stakeholder Partnership
Collaborate closely with the Learning and Development team to align curriculum and support Centre’s organizational learning strategies.
Work with department leaders to sequence onboarding and define role-based learning pathways.
Serve as a trusted technical resource for Managed Services new hires and advise managers on skill readiness and development opportunities.
Education/Experience/Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field required — such as Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related technical discipline.
Additional coursework, certification, or experience in training, instructional design, or adult learning is preferred, as the role includes assisting in designing and delivering technical training.
Strong technical aptitude with the ability to learn, master, and teach enterprise tools (ConnectWise, Microsoft 365, IT Glue, HiBob).
Ability to deliver training in technical environment.
Proven facilitation and communication skills; able to present to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience using metrics to measure training effectiveness and present insights to leadership.
Proficiency in creating and refining training materials, demos, and short instructional videos.
Strong organizational and project management capabilities; able to manage multiple onboarding cohorts and training schedules.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
Hybrid schedule, primarily in-office (4 days in office/1 remote)
Occasional lifting (up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds) may be required
Regional travel up to ~20% for delivering onsite training and supporting onboard events.
