Job description

The Inventory Control Manager is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory across all company locations, ensuring proper stock levels, and driving continuous improvement in inventory accuracy and efficiency. This role oversees daily site balances, receiving discrepancies, month-end reconciliation, and coordination across fulfillment, supply chain, and e-commerce to optimize stock positions and prevent overselling. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, data-driven, and thrives in a fast-paced CPG environment with complex SKU management and multi-channel fulfillment (DTC, Amazon, retail).

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Management & Accuracy

  • Oversee daily inventory transactions across all facilities, ensuring real-time accuracy in ERP and WMS systems.
  • Conduct cycle counts, full physical inventory counts, and reconcile variances with warehouse and finance teams.
  • Manage receiving accuracy and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Own month-end inventory close process, including valuation and reporting for Finance.
  • Monitor inventory adjustments, transfers, and write-offs to ensure compliance and accuracy.

Operational Coordination

  • Partner with warehouse teams to address inbound receiving issues, packaging variances, and material misplacements.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain and Procurement to align on production receipts, co-man inventory balances, and component tracking.
  • Ensure proper site balancing across manufacturing, 3PL, and e-commerce nodes to support order fulfillment.

E-Commerce & Stock Optimization

  • Monitor website and marketplace stock levels daily to prevent overselling and optimize run-down strategy toward zero.
  • Work closely with Sales Ops and Demand Planning to identify low-stock risks and proactively communicate OOS timelines.
  • Coordinate inventory availability for promotional events, new launches, and channel-specific allocations.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Develop and maintain dashboards tracking inventory accuracy, turns, and adjustments.
  • Identify root causes of inventory discrepancies and drive process improvements.
  • Implement best practices for inventory control, labeling, and product tracking.
  • Train cross-functional partners on inventory management procedures and data integrity standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in inventory management, preferably within CPG or food manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and WMS platforms.
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
  • Experience with multi-site inventory and e-commerce fulfillment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration across functions (Ops, Finance, E-Com, Manufacturing).

Salary: $80,000-90,000 (Final compensation will be based on qualifications, experience, and overall fit)

Location: Remote or Hybrid, Utah preferred
